Google’s Pixel 3 XL has been leaking all over the Internet since last week after a pre-production batch of the new Android flagships was reportedly stolen from Foxconn, and the latest sighting of the device comes in the form of yet another high-resolution unboxing video that provides one of the clearest looks at the phablet to date. The clip that can be seen below originated from Russia, which is where many Pixel 3 XL units ended up after being retailed by a Ukrainian black market dealer for $2,000 a piece, according to recent reports.
While the pre-production units may not be entirely representative of the final product that’s expected to be unveiled in October, particularly in terms of build materials, they should be a relatively accurate depiction of what Google has in store for consumers this year. The new leak hence once again indicates that an all-white variant of the Pixel 3 XL with a lime-colored power button is in the works, in addition to confirming numerous reports about the device featuring only a single rear camera but also a dual-camera setup on the front. The latter system doesn’t appear to be using the extra lens for anything other than improving the quality of the bokeh effect in selfies, which runs contrary to some previous speculation that suggested Google is looking into delivering a high-quality facial recognition solution.
A pair of wireless earphones resembling the Pixel Buds will be bundled alongside the device, according to the new unboxing videos and several similar clips published beforehand. While Google was widely expected to announce the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on October 4 until today, a new report from Bloomberg indicates that launch may end up happening several days later, claiming the introduction will take place in New York City. The handsets are still likely to become available for purchase by late October, together with a number of new products from the company, including the first-ever Pixel-branded smartwatches running Wear OS, according to previous rumors.
