Honor has just announced a new fitness band, the Honor Band 4, and a special edition variant of that fitness tracker called the Honor Band 4 Running Edition. Having said that, the Honor Band 4 got announced in China, Honor’s homeland, even though this fitness band will make its way to other markets in the future, including India and Europe for sure, while some other regions will join the list as well.
As you can see, the Honor Band 4 and Honor Band 4 Running Edition do look somewhat different, though both of them sport a touch-sensitive display, and a capacitive button on it. These two fitness bands are somewhat similar in terms of specs, but let’s talk about the Honor Band 4 first, and we’ll make our way to the special edition variant of that fitness tracker. The Honor Band 4, much like its sibling, comes with a silicone band, and it sports a 0.95-inch AMOLED, touch-sensitive display. A heart-rate sensor is included on the bottom of this gadget, and the Honor Band 4 comes with Bluetooth 4.2. The Honor Band 4 is compatible with Android 4.4+ and iOS 9.0+, while it comes with a pedometer, sleep tracker, exercise tracker, and sedentary reminder. This fitness band also sports 6-axis sensors, and infrared wearing detection sensor. The Honor Band 4 will notify you on calls and messages, while it is water and dust resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM rating). The Honor Band 4 comes with an NFC chip, and a 100mAh battery, which will give you about 14 days of usage time, says Honor. The device measures 43 x 17.2 x 11.5mm, while it weighs 23 grams.
The Honor Band 4 Running Edition comes with a POLED black and white display, and it doesn’t sport a heart rate sensor. This gadget sports a smaller 77mAh battery, compared to its sibling, and it will offer you up to 20 days of standby. The 6-axis sensor included here offers improved running detection, and it measures cadence, step length, ground contact time, foot strike pattern, landing impact, eversion excursion, and swing angle. This fitness band is water resistant up to 50 meters. The Honor Band 4 comes in Black, Blue, and Pink color variants, while it is priced at 199 Yuan ($29). The Honor Band 4 Running Edition comes in Black, Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, and Pink color variants, and it costs 99 Yuan ($14.5). Both fitness bands will become available on September 20.
