The Huawei Mate 20 Pro will be announced alongside its sibling, the Mate 20, on October 16, and following a ton of leaks and rumors that we’ve seen, the Mate 20 Pro concept design has now surfaced as well. This concept design comes from ‘Concept Creator’, and it was published via YouTube. The title of the video suggests that this is the Mate 20, but it’s, in fact, the Mate 20 Pro, mainly due to the rear-facing camera setup. In any case, the source claims that this design was created based on the leaks we’ve seen thus far, and it does resemble the device that surfaced a number of times thus far.
If you take a look at the video provided down below, you will notice that the phone is made out of metal and glass, and that it does sport three cameras on the back, which are, in addition to the LED flash, lined up in two rows, two cameras are in the bottom row, while the third one and an LED flash are included above them. All of those cameras protrude a bit on the back, while a fingerprint scanner sits below them. This phone comes with extremely thin bezels, but it does have a really tiny notch at the top of the display, much like the OPPO R17. The chin is not a part of the package in this concept design, while the phone’s loudspeaker and a Type-C USB port are included on the bottom. Leica’s lenses are a part of the package, and the device is shown in a number of color variants, including Red, White, Black, and Rose Gold.
The source envisioned that this phone is fueled by the all-new Kirin 980 SoC, and the real Mate 20 Pro will be fueled by that SoC as well. This concept phone also sports 8GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and it supports wireless charging. The real Mate 20 Pro may cap out at 6GB of RAM, but it’s possible that Huawei may opt to introduce a 512GB storage variant as well. The phone will sport a large display, and battery, while it will probably ship with Android 9 Pie out of the box, with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 9 skin on top of it.
