Instagram has been testing a new emoji-based feature since May, and that feature is now available on both Android and iOS. The company has essentially rolled out an emoji shortcut bar which his placed above the text field, and that shortcut bar will show you emojis that you use most often, so that you can access those particular emojis with ease, without the need for additional taps / digging through menus.
Do keep in mind that this feature may or may not be available to you at this point, as Instagram is rolling it out in waves, it’s a staged rollout we’re looking at here. Having said that, make sure to install the latest Instagram version available from the Play Store, as that will probably speed up the process, but all of you should have this feature available within the next couple of days. Instagram has announced this new feature via a Twitter post, as the company posted a GIF image showing how the feature works. That is more or everything the company has announced, no additional features / changes were presented by Instagram. Some rather interested Instagram-related info did surface quite recently, though, as the company is said to be working on its very own shopping app, but nothing has been confirmed just yet, so take that info with a grain of salt.
Instagram has been around for a long time, as many of you know, and it is owned by Facebook. The company did not exactly roll out a ton of features this year, but the app has been constantly updated, and it functions better than ever. Instagram is one of the most popular apps in the Play Store, as it has been downloaded over 1 billion times, which is not something many apps can say for themselves.
