Motorola has recently unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone offering, the Moto P30 Note. This handset sports the same design and specifications as the recently-launched Motorola One Power, although according to recent reports, the Moto P30 Note will only be available in select markets, including China. Furthermore, while the Moto P30 Note ships with Android 8.1 Oreo, the manufacturer’s proprietary skin, ZUI 4.0, runs on top of Google’s operating system. In contrast, the Moto One Power ships with stock Android.
Like the Motorola One Power, the Moto P30 Note sports a 6.2-inch display with a resolution of 2,246 by 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen is protected from scratches by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass, and placed above the panel is a notch that contains the earpiece, sensors, and front-facing camera. Located at the upper left corner of the handset’s rear panel is the dual rear camera setup, while also placed at the smartphone’s back is the fingerprint sensor. The bottom of the device contains the USB Type-C port and loudspeaker, while users may find the 3.5mm headphone jack at the top of the handset.
The Snapdragon 636 chipset powers the Moto P30 Note. This SoC is composed of an octa-core Kryo 260 CPU running at a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz and the Adreno 509 GPU. The handset contains 64GB of internal storage, which could be expanded using a microSD card, and either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Dedicated dual nanoSIM card and microSD card slots are also present, and the handset supports connectivity features like VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5. The dual rear camera setup is equipped with a 16-megapixel camera with an aperture size of f/1.8 and a 5-megapixel camera with an aperture size of f/2.2. The Moto P30 Note contains a 5,000mAh battery and it also supports fast charging. Aside from the Moto P30 Note, Motorola also recently launched the Moto P30, which sports a similar processor and display, although the Moto P30 includes a smaller 3,000mAh battery. The 4GB variant of the Moto P30 Note ships with a price tag of 1,999 Yuan ($293) while the 6GB model of the device costs 2,299 Yuan ($337). At this point, the only available color option for the handset is Mercury Black.
