In Short: The OnePlus 6T has just appeared online in various images, and even a video that is showing off those renders. These renders are based on CAD images, and chances are that they’re quite accurate, at least that was the case in the past with similar leaks. As you can see, the OnePlus 6T will resemble the OPPO R17 quite a bit as far as the design is concerned, the phone will be made out of metal and glass, and a fingerprint scanner is not visible on the phone, which probably means it’s included below the display, as rumored. A vertically-aligned dual camera setup sits on the back of the phone, and the device’s notch is now much smaller than the one on the OnePlus 6. This notch is referred to as a ‘waterdrop’ notch, and aside from it, the OnePlus 6 also sports an extremely thin bezel below the display. The phone’s bezels, in general, are almost non-existent, while you will spot the device’s power / lock key and an alert slider on the right, while its volume up and volume down buttons are included on the left, along with a SIM card tray. The device will include a bottom-firing speaker, a Type-C USB port, while a 3.5mm headphone jack will not be a part of the package. The source also revealed that the phone will measure 157.5 x 75.7 x 8.2mm (8.6mm counting its camera).
Background: The OnePlus 6T has been leaking for quite some time now, and OnePlus had already confirmed that it will not sport a headphone jack. The device is rumored to arrive next month, and even an invite for an India event leaked recently, claiming that it will arrive on October 17. A global event will take place on either October 16 or 17, OnePlus still did not release invites for that event. This actually means that the phone will arrive sooner than anticipated, as it was expected to arrive in November.
Impact: The OnePlus 6T will not be a huge overhaul compared to the OnePlus 6, at least not on the inside, even though it will include a fingerprint scanner, which the OnePlus 6 does not have. The OnePlus 6T will also offer an improved design compared to the OnePlus 6, mainly because of that notch on the display, but the two phones will be quite similar as far as internals are concerned, as they will be fueled by the same processor, and chances are their RAM and storage combos will be quite similar as well.
