Xiaomi's Exec Shows Mi MIX 3 Yet Again, Teases 5G Support

Donovan Sung, Xiaomi’s Global Spokesperson and Director of Product Management, has shared yet another image of the Mi MIX 3, and this time around, he basically confirmed that the phone will be 5G-ready. Mr. Sung shared the very first image of the Mi MIX 3 a couple of days ago, confirming that the phone will ship with extremely thin bezels and a slide-out mechanism, and now yet another image surfaced on Mr. Sung’s official Twitter account.

Mr. Sung says that the company has been testing 5G data connections on Xiaomi devices, while sharing an image of the Mi MIX 3. He also stated that Xiaomi cannot wait for 5G to become available next year, as its speeds are more than 10X faster than 4G speeds, in theory. He did not specifically confirm that we’re looking at the Mi MIX 3, nor did he specifically said that the device will be 5G-ready, but his tweet definitely suggests that. As you can see, the Mi MIX 3 is basically completely bezel-less, it does have that frame around the display so that you can grab the phone, and to hold the phone in one piece, but it seems like all of its bezels are equally thick. It is possible that the bottom bezel is a tiny bit thicker than the rest of them, but it’s hardly noticeable. This actually suggests that the Mi MIX 3 may sport the highest screen-to-body ratio out there, higher even than the OPPO Find X, or at least equal to OPPO’s flagship.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 will sport a slide-out mechanism, but its rear-facing cameras will not be hidden away, as is the case with the OPPO Find X’s cameras. The phone’s front-facing camera will be hidden away, though, along with some sensors. The Mi MIX 3 will become official in October, which is also something Mr. Sung confirmed recently. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, while it will ship with 6GB / 8GB of RAM, most probably. The phone will be made out of metal and glass or metal and ceramic, while you can expect to see two cameras on the back of this phone, and either a rear-facing or an in-display fingerprint scanner.
