Recently leaked renders provide additional information about the four rear cameras of Samsung’s upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy A9. Users may find the four vertically-stacked rear cameras at the upper left-hand corner of the handset’s rear panel, and placed directly below the cameras is the LED flash. Located at the top of the quadruple rear camera setup is the wide-angle shooter, which has an 8-megapixel sensor, a f/2.4 aperture, and a 120-degree lens, and placed directly below it is the telephoto camera, which comes with a 10-megapixel module, an aperture size of f/2.4, and 2x optical zoom. The device’s main camera, on the other hand, contains a 24-megapixel sensor and features an aperture size of f/1.7 and optical image stabilization, while the depth camera, which is used for the handset’s Live Focus feature, ships with a 5-megapixel sensor. The renders also show that the rear panel of the Galaxy A9 contains the fingerprint sensor and the logo of the device maker.
Previous leaks already detailed the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A9. The Snapdragon 660 chipset will reportedly power the device. This SoC is comprised of an octa-core Kryo 260 CPU clocked at up to 2.2GHz and the Adreno 512 GPU. The device is expected to sport a 6.28-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,220 by 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The Galaxy A9 will likely include 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal flash storage, which can be expanded by a microSD card with a capacity of up to 400GB. Previous reports also claim that the front-facing camera of the smartphone ships with an 8-megapixel sensor with an aperture size of f/1.7. The handset is rumored to contain a 3,720mAh battery, and it is expected to ship with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed, with Samsung’s proprietary skin, the Samsung Experience UI, running on top of Google’s operating system. The Galaxy A9 will also reportedly support both Dolby Atmos and Samsung Pay.
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy A9 on October 11th. The invitation to the launch event, which has a tagline “4x the fun”, seems to highlight the key selling point of the mid-range smartphone.
