Samsung Is Still The Sixth 'Best Global Brand': Interbrand

In Short:Samsung has retained the sixth place in Interbrand’s “Best Global Brands” list. The company had the same position last year, and that has not changed this time around, as the company is sixth-placed with a brand value of $59.9 billion. Truth be said, Samsung’s value did rise compared to last year, by 6.5-percent, in case you were wondering, as the company was valued at $56.2 billion last year. Compared to the same period in 2012, the company strived, as it was valued at 32.9 billion back then, and had the ninth place on Interbrand’s list.

Background: Samsung said that a number of factors helped it grow and retain this ranking, ranging from its Galaxy Note 9 smartphone, latest series of washing machines and TVs, all the way to continued innovation via 5G, AI, and IoT. The company has also mentioned its semiconductor business as well, as it’s one of its more profitable businesses, while the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus were also named, of course.

Impact: Samsung is a company that dabbles in quite a few areas, all of which are regarding the technology, of course, and it’s one of the most successful companies in the world, so it’s not exactly surprising that it managed to mark down further growth and retain its place on Interbrand’s list. Interbrand, at the time of writing this article, did not release a full list of companies, so we do not exactly know how things stand when it comes to other 9 companies on within the top 10 list, but Interbrand is expected to share such a list later today. As far as Samsung is concerned, the company is planning to release its foldable smartphone in the near future, and it remains to be seen if that gadget will help the company move further up on Interbrand’s list next year. It’s also worth noting that 5G will probably be a big thing next year, so that’s also something to consider.
