Verizon Confirms LG V40 ThinQ Availability, Pricing & Freebies

In short:Verizon has announced the LG V40 ThinQ will be available to pre-order online and in store starting from October 11. Those who would prefer to wait until the phone is available to pick up from a Verizon store will have to wait until October 18. Regardless of whether pre-ordering or buying Verizon will be offering the V40 ThinQ through its device payment option which breaks down to $40.83 per month on a 24-month basis. Alternatively, buyers will be able to purchase the V40 ThinQ outright for $979.99.

Background: Verizon’s availability confirmation comes just after LG officially announced its new V40 ThinQ smartphone. While LG does currently offer a number of new smartphone models, it’s hoping the V40 ThinQ will stand out compared to the rest (as well as those from competing manufacturers) thanks to the addition of five cameras. As the V40 ThinQ not only features a triple-camera setup on the back, but also a dual camera setup on the front. Making it one of the most heavy camera-equipped smartphones to come through to date. Besides the now-confirmed standard pricing, the carrier has also announced it will be running various promotions for those looking to pick up the new LG phone early. For example, those who pre-order between October 11 and October 17 will also be eligible for a free SanDisk Ultra 256GB microSDXC memory card, as well as a DJI OSMO Mobile 2 Gimbal. Alternatively, those looking to just save on the overall cost of the phone can either save $200 by purchasing through a Verizon device payment, or save up to $300 when switching to Verizon (or adding another line) and trading in another phone. While not specified, Verizon has confirmed both of these money-off promos are limited time deals.

Impact: Verizon confirming the availability of the LG V40 ThinQ is not a surprise as this is a high-profile smartphone and one which will appeal to those who are looking for a heightened camera experience. Compared to the other carriers, Verizon is selling the V40 ThinQ at a slightly higher full retail price, although with all of the main carriers in the US charging in excess of $900 the price difference is somewhat negligible. In either case, one of the added benefits of purchasing through Verizon is that in addition to stocking the Aurora Black color option, Verizon is also offering an exclusive Moroccan Blue color.
