The Federal Communications Commission recently certified a likely variant of the Moto G7. This certification could mean that the handset, which has a model number XT1965-2, will be sold in the United States in the near future. Based on the documents submitted by Motorola to the telecommunications regulator, it seems that the Moto G7 will be available in single SIM and dual-SIM variants. Furthermore, the test report shows that the handset is compatible with LTE networks running on bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, and 66, which means that people can use the device to connect to the LTE networks operated by T-Mobile and AT&T. The documents further mention that the Moto G7 supports the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard, FM radio, and the NFC protocol.
Background: For the past few years, Motorola sold its mid-range Moto G handsets in the United States. Earlier this year, the company brought two Moto G models, namely the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play, to the American market alongside the Moto E5 Play and the Moto E5 Plus. Several online retailers, including the tech giant Amazon, sold these handsets in the United States, and when it launched, the Moto G6 is compatible with the four national carriers in the United States.
Recent leaks already provided details about the design and the specifications of the upcoming mid-range handsets from Motorola. Leaked images show that the smartphone will likely be made from metal and glass, and recent reports claim that the device will sport a waterdrop-shaped notch above the display. The notch will include a single front-facing camera, which is equipped with an 8-megapixel module, and sensors for proximity and ambient light detection. Also located above the display is the earpiece. Located at the bottom of the handset are the USB Type-C port, 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, and the grills for the loudspeaker.
The Snapdragon 630 chipset from Qualcomm will reportedly power the device. This SoC is comprised of an octa-core ARM Cortex A53 64-bit CPU running at a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz and the Adreno 508 GPU. The device will also reportedly sport 6GB of RAM and a 3,200mAh battery. The smartphone is also expected to come with a dual rear camera setup that will contain one 12-megapixel sensor and one 5-megapixel module. Accompanying the camera inside the circular camera bump is the dual LED flash, and located below the cameras is the rear fingerprint sensor.
Aside from the Moto G7, Motorola will also reportedly launch the Moto G7 Play, the G7 Plus, and the G7 Power early next year. The Moto G7 Play will be the cheapest of the four handsets, while the G7 Plus will likely include a larger display. The Moto G7 Power, on the other hand, will reportedly contain a larger battery compared to the other three smartphones.

However, despite the increased number of Moto G smartphones that the company will reportedly launch next year, it is possible that not all models will reach the US market.
