Galaxy S10's Display Hole To Be Much Smaller Than Galaxy A8s': Leak

The Samsung Galaxy S10’s screen protector has just surfaced, a glass screen protector, it seems. In any case, if you take a look at the provided image, you will be able to see how small the display hole is, noticeably smaller than the one on the Galaxy A8s, which is also pictured down below. We’ve already seen several leaks for the Galaxy S10 screen protectors, though mostly the Galaxy S10+’s screen protectors leaked. This is not your regular sticker-like screen protector, but an actual glass panel that comes applied on top of the phone’s display. This panel also reveals that the phone will be rather compact, despite its 6.1-inch display. The Galaxy S10 is actually expected to sport a 19:9 or 19.5:9 display aspect ratio, and thanks to that, it will be just as narrow as the Galaxy S8, according to the source, or at least close to it. That should make one-handed operation much easier, especially thanks to Samsung’s One UI skin which will ship on top of this Android. This glass panel also reveals that the phone’s bottom bezel will be a hair thicker than the rest of its sides, so the device will be almost fully bezel-less. You will also notice a cutout at the top of the phone for the earpiece.

Background: The Galaxy S10 had surfaced in a number of images thus far, though we’ve seen some conflicting info. The most frequently-leaked design actually aligns with this leaked front glass protector, which suggests this leak may actually be accurate. The Galaxy S10 is expected to arrive in February, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and it’s expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S10+ and S10 Lite. Samsung is actually rumored to introduce four Galaxy S10 smartphones next year, and the fourth “premium” Galaxy S10 handset will probably arrive later on, in March or April. That handset is rumored to ship with 12GB of RAM, and it will support 5G, while the rest of the Galaxy S10 variants probably will not. The “premium” Galaxy S10 unit is also expected to ship with a ceramic backplate, while the other Galaxy S10 phones will include glass on the back. The “premium” Galaxy S10 unit is also expected to ship with six cameras overall, while more than any other Galaxy S10 unit.

Impact: The Galaxy S10 lineup will represent a design refresh for Samsung, at least based on rumors and leaks. All the details are still unclear, but rumors and leaks are putting pieces of the puzzle together. The Galaxy S10+ will, unlike the Galaxy S10, include two front-facing cameras, it seems, and all the Galaxy S10 units are expected to arrive in both Exynos 9820 and Snapdragon 855 SoC variants, depending on the market. In the coming weeks, we’ll probably see a ton more Galaxy S10 leaks, the closer we get to the release date for the device(s), the more info we’ll see, and Samsung is also expected to start sharing Galaxy S10 teasers in the near future, quite probably starting sometime in January.
