Honor View 20 To Sport A 24MP Selfie Camera, Appears On AnTuTu

The Honor View 20 is Honor’s upcoming flagship which will be announced on January 22, as per official info, and now some info regarding this smartphone surfaced… well, quite a bit, actually. Some industry sources suggested that the phone will feature a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, as per 91mobiles, and that camera will be included in the display itself, as the Honor View 20 will sport a display camera hole, which is also something Honor already confirmed. Now, interestingly enough, that display camera hole will be under 4.5mm in diameter, so it will probably be smaller than the hole included in the Galaxy A8s, as that in-display hole is quite large. That is not all as far as new info is concerned, though, as the phone also surfaced on AnTuTu quite recently, well, the Honor V20 is, but that is basically the Honor View 20 for the Chinese market. The device surfaced on AnTuTu in China, and that listing confirms that the Kirin 980 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel the device, and that is Huawei’s flagship processor. Now, in addition to that SoC, the phone will also pack in 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage, at least one of its variants will. Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on the device, along with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 9 skin, which is the newest version of Huawei’s Android skin.

Honor View 20 Confirmed To Sport A 48-Megapixel Camera

Honor recently confirmed that the Honor View 20 will include the company’s all-new Full-View Display 3.0 which is almost completely bezel-less, but does come with a display camera hole. The company claims that it used a complex 18-layer technology stack in order to properly implement that selfie camera in its display, so that the camera hole does not end up being too large or something of the sort. Honor also announced that the View 20 will include a 48-megapixel camera on the back, and will utilize Sony’s IMX586 sensor. This is a 1/2-inch sensor, and it offers the Quad Bayer color. Now, this sensor will essentially allow the Honor View 20 to shoot rather impressive images overall, and low-noise 12-megapixel images in low-light, at least in theory. Honor did release some sample images taken with that camera, just in case you’re interested in checking those out. That’s not all the info that Honor confirmed, though, the company also said that the phone will ship with “Link Turbo” technology which will essentially allow it to combine Wi-Fi and cellular connections in order to offer faster download speeds to users. The device will become official on January 22 in Paris, Honor announced that quite recently, and the phone is expected to hit China and India soon after that. Following its Paris announcement, the View 20 will probably become available in Europe, though we do not know when exactly, but it should happen soon after its initial launch.

Honor View 10 vs View 20

These two phones will be considerably different when it comes to the design. The Honor View 10 is made out of metal, and it sports rather regular bezels above and below the display, they’re not that thick, but they’re there. On top of that, the phone sports a front-facing fingerprint scanner which is located below its display. The Honor View 20, on the other hand, will utilize metal + glass design, while its fingerprint scanner will either sit on the back, or under the display. The View 20 will sport essentially no bezel at all, some bezel will be included below the display, but it will be so thin that you’ll hardly notice it. The phone will have a display camera hole in the top-left corner of the display, while its earpiece will be included at the very top of the phone’s front side, and will be implemented in the bezel, essentially, so it will not be as noticeable. The Honor View 10 came with two cameras on the back, while it remains to be seen how many cameras will the View 20 sport on its back, at this point we know that a 48-megapixel sensor will be there, but don’t really have info regarding its secondary camera, and there’s even a chance Honor may include three cameras back there, we’ll see.

Honor View 20’s Specifications & Price Tag

The Honor View 20 will be fueled by Huawei’s flagship that is inside the company’s Mate 20 series of devices, as already mentioned, and at least one variant of the device will incorporate 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. What about the rest of its specifications? Well, the View 10 shipped with a 5.99-inch display, and the View 20 will almost certainly include a noticeably larger display than that, simply because its bezels are considerably thinner, and Honor can do that without increasing the size of the phone. The Honor View 20 will probably ship with either a 6.3-inch or a 6.4-inch display, while we’ll get an IPS LCD display on the device, even though an OLED panel would be a choice of many users. The phone is expected to include a rather large battery on the inside, a 4,000mAh unit is expected, while its fingerprint scanner will probably be included on the back. This phone will include two SIM card slots, and it may offer memory expansion via a microSD card slot (hybrid setup). Now, the phone’s price tag is still a mystery, but the View 10 had a really accessible price tag considering what it had to offer both in terms of hardware and software, so the View 20 will probably be more affordable than the competition as well. The Honor View 20 may cost around €500, it could be a bit less or a bit more, but it definitely won’t be one of those phones that get close to a €1,000 price tag or anything of the sort, even though its specifications may suggest otherwise. This will also be one of the phones with the thinnest set of bezels out there, so it will be interesting to see how well it will sell, as it will look rather appealing to consumers, that’s for sure, despite the display camera hole that some people may dislike.
