CES 2019 Complete Recap: Rollable TV, Google Assistant Overload & More

CES 2019 has come to an end.

The first big trade-show of the new year, and the world’s largest tech show on earth is finally over. During this past week, a ton of products were announced in Las Vegas. Seeing as this is the Consumer Electronics Show, there was all types of different tech on show at the event. Some of it was a bit weird, like a smart toilet from Kohler, but then there was some other really interesting products, like the many TVs shown off in Vegas this week. Of course, a fan favorite was LG’s Rollable OLED TV, as well as LG’s OLED Waterfall that greeted everyone at the entrance to the company’s booth.

Android TV made a pretty big impact this week at CES as well, with Hisense, Panasonic and Sony all making Android TV announcements.

Google Assistant sort of stole the show this year in Las Vegas – though it also did this last year. Google had a huge booth in the parking lot of the Las Vegas Convention Center, which had a bit of everything – including a ride that was powered by the Google Assistant, taking people through the day and showing how the Google Assistant can help them throughout the day. The Google Assistant also had a number of announcements, including Google Assistant Connect, which is a new platform aimed at getting the Assistant into more products.

There was also the announcement that Sonos has Google Assistant working on the One and the Beam, and it is currently in beta. But the big theme for Google Assistant was the car. There were at least three Google Home-like devices announced at the show (by JBL, Anker and Verizon), designed to bring the Assistant to your car, so you can use it for navigation, music, and much more.
