Alleged OnePlus 7 Real-Life Image Appears With Upside Down Home Screen

The alleged OnePlus 7 has just appeared in the wild, and it’s a bit odd, The moment you see this image you will notice that its “forehead” is considerably thicker than its “chin”. On its own, that’s not such a big deal, and it’s doable, but the buttons on the side are throwing us off.

If you take a look at the left-hand side of the phone, you will notice that there are two buttons included there, in the bottom portion of the phone’s left side. Those two buttons are separated, and it seems like these are the power / lock and alert slider keys, as another set of buttons is included on the left, and those buttons are connected, which probably means those are volume rocker keys.

So, either this image is not legit, or whoever took it didn’t pay much attention to orientation settings, as the phone’s home screen seems to be flipped upside down. In any case, let’s assume that’s the case, and that the orientation of the display is wrong here, so just imagine that the home page is flipped around.

If that was the case, then the phone top bezel would be thinner than its bottom bezel, which would make more sense. You will also notice that display holes are not present here, and the same goes for notches, so this phone’s front-facing camera is either placed under the display (which is unlikely), or we’re looking at a phone with a sliding camera mechanism, presuming the image is legit.

Will The OnePlus 7 Ship With A Sliding Camera Mechanism?

A leaked image appeared back in January, claiming that the OnePlus 7 will ship with a sliding camera mechanism. The phone’s design was covered by a case, but that case did suggest that the phone has a sliding camera mechanism, as it had cutouts for where the phone’s front-facing camera and sensors need to be.

At that time, it didn’t seem as likely we’ll see the OnePlus 7 with a sliding camera mechanism, but it is still possible, especially if the leaked image is legit. Pretty much everyone assumed that OnePlus will go with a display camera hole, like many other manufacturers, and the OPPO R19 render which surfaced a while back suggested that as well… but the chances are much slimmer now, as the sliding camera mechanism seems to be a viable option.

Specifications & Launch Date

The OnePlus 7’s specs did not leak just yet, but we can assume we’re in for. The OnePlus 7 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor, and in addition to the OnePlus 7, the company is also planning to announce a 5G-enabled high-end device, which will belong to a separate lineup of devices.

The OnePlus 7 will include at least 6GB of RAM, though OnePlus may raise the bottom line to 8GB of RAM with the device, we’ll see. The phone will include an OLED display, though it remains to be seen if it will be a fullHD+ or QHD+ panel. Most rumors claim that we’ll see three cameras on the back of the phone, while an in-display fingerprint scanner will be a part of the package as well.
