Google Pixel 4 Series Envisioned In Notchy Concepts: Video

The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are expected to arrive in September or October this year, and while we’re waiting for more concrete info to surface, concept designs of the two devices have just surfaced on the Concept Creator YouTube channel.

We’ve seen all sorts of concept designs published on that YouTube channel in the last couple of years, and this time around the source tried to envision the Pixel 4. The source notes that these two concepts are “somewhat based on leaks”, so it picked up some design elements from leaks we’ve seen, but we didn’t really see all that many leaks thus far, at least not legit ones, the Pixel 4 series is still is a huge mystery.

Do note that the source is showing two different concepts in the provided video, but does not note which one is the Pixel 4 and which is the Pixel 4 XL. These concept Pixel 4 devices seem to borrow design elements from the Pixel 3 series, at least as far as the back side is concerned, as both of them sport that glass strip in the upper portion of its back side.

One model sports a single camera on the back, while the other comes with two cameras. On both devices, cameras are located in the top-left corner, while an LED flash sits right next to them. You will also notice that the back side is curved, and that Google’s logo sits in the lower portion of the phone’s back side.

Both Pixel 4 concepts sport a display notch, it seems, and that notch is actually larger than most people would have liked. It’s nowhere near as large as the Pixel 3 XL’s notch, but it’s still kind of an eyesore. Other than the notch, the two concepts do not really sport any bezel, even their “chin” is hardly noticeable. Curved glass is applied on top of the display, though the display itself is flat.

On the bottom of the two concepts lies a Type-C USB port, along with a microphone, SIM card tray, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Some of you may wonder where are the devices’ speakers, well, it seems like the designer opted to include them on the front, they’re located right below and above the display.

The power / lock, volume up, and volume down buttons are located on the right-hand side of both concepts, while a dedicated camera button is also placed on that side, which is quite surprising.

These two concept designs are quite interesting, that’s for sure, but chances are that the real Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will look considerably different. The two devices probably will not include a 3.5mm headphone jack, while a dedicated camera button probably won’t be a part of the package either.

Google will also, hopefully, find a way not to include such a display notch on the two phones. The company will hopefully opt for a much smaller notch, or a display camera cutout. We are only guessing at this point, of course, as the Pixel 4’s launch is still some time away, but proper leaks are expected to start arriving in the coming weeks, so we’ll hopefully get a better idea as to what to expect.
