OnePlus 7 To Sport A Pop-Up Selfie Camera & Bezel-Less Design: Leak

The alleged OnePlus 7 renders have just surfaced on the Pricebaba website, and these renders have been provided in collaboration with @OnLeaks, who often partners up with various websites in order to leak smartphone designs. As per usual, you can check out this design either via a video embedded down below, which shows the phone from pretty much all angles, or you can take a peek in the gallery.

As you can see, it seems like OnePlus opted not to include a display notch or a display hole in the OnePlus 7, but instead, the company will utilize a pop-up camera… presuming these renders are legit, of course. The phone’s front-facing camera will appear when you switch to the front-facing camera in the phone’s camera app, as was the case with the Vivo NEX.

Some people will see a downside to this, as a pop-up camera means moving parts inside the phone, and those people are hard to convince in the durability of such setup. Other people will see a benefit here, as this move allowed OnePlus to trim down bezels of the phone to the extreme, as the device’s only bezel is placed below the display, and it’s extremely thin.

The phone’s display will sport rounded corners, and even though it may seem it’s curved in the provided content, it probably is not, but it sports a curved glass panel on top of its display. The power / lock button will once again be located on the right, while the alert slider will sit above it. The volume up and down buttons will be placed on the left, along with a SIM card tray.

Three vertically-aligned cameras are placed on the back of the OnePlus 7 (and they protrude a bit), while an LED flash and the company’s logo sit right below those cameras. The device itself seems to be made out of metal and glass, and the back side of the phone is curved. A fingerprint scanner is not visible on this phone’s body, quite probably because it’s located below its display. A 3.5mm headphone jack is not included in the package either, while the phone’s loudspeaker and Type-C USB port sit on the bottom of the device.

The source also notes that the phone may have a 95-percent screen-to-body ratio (or higher), and that the display will probably measure 6.5 inches. The resolution is assumed to be fullHD+, and we’re expecting to see an OLED panel included on the device. The source says that the phone will measure 162.6 x 76 x 8.8mm, its thickness will go up to 9.7mm if you count the camera bump.

The OnePlus 7 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855, that much had been confirmed, while the device will include at least 6GB of RAM on the inside, though more RAM variants will be introduced, same goes for storage. A 4,150mAh battery is rumored to be included on the inside, while Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on the device, along with OnePlus’ OxygenOS.

The OnePlus 7 will probably become official in May, as the OnePlus 6 got announced in May 2018, but there’s a chance OnePlus may wait until June. The OnePlus 7 will not sport 5G support, but OnePlus is planning to launch a second flagship which will be 5G-enabled, we still do not know when will that phone land, though.
