Industry insider Evan Blass hinted that Motorola would launch four Motorola One variants this year, and he also provided the names of the smartphone models that the handset maker will likely unveil soon. According to Blass, Motorola will brand its upcoming mid-range smartphones as the Motorola One, One Power, One Vision, and One Action.
Even though Evan Blass did not provide any information about the specifications and designs of the four smartphones, renders and leaks that appeared over the past few months already provided details about three of the four upcoming handsets from Motorola.
Recent leaks claim that the Motorola One Vision, which will likely be known as the Moto P40 in China, will feature the Exynos 9610 chipset from Samsung Electronics, as opposed to the mid-range SoCs from Qualcomm that the handset maker previously used for its mid-tier devices. The Exynos 9610 sports four Cortex A73 CPU cores running at a maximum clock speed of 2.3GHz, four Cortex A53 CPU cores clocked at up to 1.7GHz, and the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The Motorola One Vision also includes 6GB of RAM and a 3,500mAh battery.
Renders show that the One Vision will feature a circular cutout located at the upper left-hand corner of the display, which contains the single front-facing camera. Meanwhile, the rear panel of the smartphone includes two cameras arranged vertically at the top left-hand part of the back panel. Directly underneath the two rear cameras is the dual LED flash, and also found at the smartphone’s back panel is the fingerprint scanner.
Meanwhile, the Motorola One Power (2019) will succeed the original One Power that the handset maker launched last year, although the handset maker will likely market the smartphone as the Moto P40 Note within China. This device will possibly be the first handset from Motorola that will feature three rear cameras, with at least one shooter equipped with a 12-megapixel sensor. The smartphone will also retain the circular cutout and the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner seen in the One Vision. Renders also show that the One Power will ship with a 6.2-inch display and a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack.
Given the similarity in names, the upcoming Motorola One handset will likely succeed the first-generation Motorola One device, which the company launched last year. In the previous year, the tech firm branded the Motorola One as the P30 Play in China, and it is likely that the smartphone manufacturer will market the recently leaked P40 Play as the new Motorola One once it launches the upcoming smartphone. The Motorola One will likely be the cheapest of the three handsets, and its rear panel houses the single camera, the fingerprint sensor, and the grills for the loudspeaker.
Unfortunately, there is little information available about the Motorola One Action, although the name of the handset suggests that the device may either cater to users who have active lifestyles or contain enhancements that allow the smartphone to survive in extreme environments.
Despite the differences in specifications and designs, all four handsets will launch as part of the Android One program. By being a part of Google’s software initiative, the smartphones will receive timely security patches and major operating software upgrades, including new versions of the Android OS.
