OnePlus 7 Pro Coming In Three… Mundane Colors?

If you were wondering what colors will the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G be available in, well, that piece of info has just been revealed by a tipster. Max J. from Samsung_News tweeted out that the two phones will not be available in gradient colors, not a single one, as some rumors suggested.

The source claims that the two phones will ship in Nebula Blue, Mirror Gray, and Almond. He did mention these three colors yesterday when he revealed most of the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G specs, but at that time, he simply said “Blue, Brown, and Gray”, without giving out the exact names that OnePlus will use. On top of that, we had no idea that not a single one of those colors will be gradient.

For those of you who do not know, most people expected that the company will release a gradient OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro variants, as the OnePlus 6T shipped in Thunder Purple options, which was a gradient color variant. The Thunder Purple OnePlus 6T did arrive later on, though, not back when the OnePlus 6T launched, so what the source tweeted out may change, in time.

OnePlus’ CEO did say that flashy color variants are not selling all that well for the company, and that regular colors are doing much better. It seems like he was referring to the gradient Thunder Purple OnePlus 6T when he made that statement, and that suggests that we may not see a gradient OnePlus 7 smartphone at all.

The source did not mention anything about the OnePlus 7, though, so it is possible that the OnePlus 7 will include a color variant that the OnePlus 7 Pro will not be available in, and it could be a gradient option, but that’s not as likely, at least not at launch.

OnePlus did confirm yesterday that the OnePlus 7 series smartphones will become official on May 14. The company will host four separate events at the same time, in various regions of the world. OnePlus still did not announce that we will see three different variants of the device, but the company did tease a 90Hz display while announcing the press conference, while it kind of confirmed that the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a curved display with that teaser.

The OnePlus 7 is expected to look like the OnePlus 6T, the only difference will be in the placement of its LED flash on the back. The phone will also include the same battery and display as its predecessor it seems, but it will ship with a 48-megapixel main camera on the back, and the all-new Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor.

The OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will be identical in every way, except the latter model will offer 5G connectivity. The OnePlus 7 Pro will ship with a 6.7-inch QHD+ curved OLED display, if rumors are accurate, while the phone will be available in both 6GB and 8GB RAM options, just like the OnePlus 7. There is a chance that a special edition model may arrive later on with even more RAM. This phone will include three cameras on the back, and instead of the waterdrop notch on the front (which will be included on the OnePlus 7), it will ship with a pop-up front-facing camera.
