OnePlus 7 (Pro) To Become Available For Purchase On May 22: Tipster

According to Ishan Agarwal, a well-known tipster, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will become available for purchase on May 22, while T-Mobile may start selling factory unlocked versions on launch day. The May 22 release date actually makes sense, as the devices will be announced on May 14. It is worth noting that some rumors suggested that the phones will become available on May 21, so we’ll see what date is accurate. These are good news, though, as you’ll be able to purchase the device only a week after its release, it seems.

OnePlus had officially confirmed that the OnePlus 7 series will drop on May 14, while the company is in the middle of promoting the launch event by releasing various teasers. We’ll see plenty more of those as the event approaches, and quite a few info leaked already.

The company is rumored to announce three OnePlus 7 devices on May 14, the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. The OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will allegedly be identical, save for the 5G connectivity part, and the price tag, of course. There could be some difference when it comes to RAM, though, but other than that, the two devices will share the same design and quite probably the same specs.

The OnePlus 7 will look almost identical to the OnePlus 6T, if leaks are to be believed. The phone will include that teardrop notch, and will have the same footprint as the OnePlus 6T. The only difference between the two devices, in terms of the design, will be visible on the back, as the OnePlus 7 will ship with a differently-placed LED notification light.

The OnePlus 7 Pro, on the other hand, will sport a brand new design. The phone will include a pop-up selfie camera, which means that it won’t ship with a display notch or a hole. The phone will also include a curved display, and its bezels will basically be non-existent.

The OnePlus 7 Pro will be larger than the OnePlus 7, as it is rumored to ship with a 6.67-inch display, while the OnePlus 7 will include a 6.41-inch panel. The OnePlus 7 will ship with the same display that was used on the OnePlus 6T, it seems, while the OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to include a brand new QHD+ curved OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

The OnePlus 7 will sport two cameras on the back, while the OnePlus 7 Pro will utilize three cameras back there. Both devices are expected to pack in an in-display fingerprint scanner, while both phones will ship with Android 9 Pie as well, with OnePlus’ OxygenOS Android overlay.

A couple of days ago, Mr. Agarwal shared price points for the OnePlus 7 Pro, at least as far as Europe is concerned. He said that the 8GB RAM variant of the phone with 256GB of storage will end up costing €749, while the 12GB RAM model with 256GB of storage will set you back €819. The 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage will also be available, but Ishan Agarwal was unable to say how much will that model cost. Do keep in mind that prices will differ based on region.
