The OnePlus 7 series launch event is scheduled for May 14, and both the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro have just surfaced. The OnePlus 7 appeared in a music video, believe it or not, while the OnePlus 7 Pro has been spotted in a restaurant along with the company’s CEO, Pete Lau.
Let’s focus on this music video first. The device appeared in a music video by an Indian singer called Neha Bhasin. To make things even more interesting, it’s worth saying that this music video is available through the OnePlus Playback platform, which serves to promote independent music. That video was published on Neha Bhasin’s YouTube channel, and is embedded down below.
Things are rather confusing in this video, though, as the phone here actually sports two cameras on the back, and no display notch. This leads us to believe that this is the OnePlus 7, not the OnePlus 7 Pro, as the OnePlus 7 Pro will almost certainly have three cameras on the back, as the phone that Pete Lau was spotted with confirms. The OnePlus 7 was leaked with a design that is almost identical to the OnePlus 6T, but if this video is to be believed, the OnePlus 7 may actually look like the OnePlus 7 Pro, but it will ship with a flat display.
In this video, you can actually take a pretty good look at the phone, from both its back and front sides. After watching the video, you will quickly realize that leaks may have been off in terms of the regular OnePlus 7.
This video also confirms that the phone will be made out of metal and glass, and that it will include two vertically-aligned cameras on the back. In terms of general design language, including curves and everything, it will be identical to the OnePlus 7 Pro, and it will ship with a pop-up camera as well. The OnePlus 7 Pro will be larger, though, and it will ship with a curved display, unlike this phone, in addition to having more cameras on the back.
The OnePlus 7 Pro has been spotted in a restaurant, next to the company’s CEO, Pete Lau, as previously mentioned. If you take a look at the images in the gallery, you will be able to see it. The phone is covered by a case, though, so all you can see are its rear-facing cameras and an LED flash, basically.
OnePlus is expected to announce three smartphones on May 14, the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. The OnePlus 7 will be the smallest out of the three, as it is rumored to sport the same display size as the OnePlus 6T, though it remains to be seen how accurate is that info considering that this music video suggests a whole different design for the OnePlus 7 than we originally thought.
The OnePlus 7 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to sport a 6.67-inch QHD+ curved display, and it will include three cameras on the back, compared to two units on the back of the OnePlus 7. All three OnePlus 7 phones will be fueled by the same processor, the Snapdragon 855, while the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will be pretty much identical, aside from the 5G connectivity option, of course.
OnePlus is expected to release 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB RAM variants of its OnePlus 7 devices, though the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will probably ship in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants only, while the 5G model is expected to be available in a 12GB option, but we’ll see. All three phones will ship with Android 9 Pie out of the box, with OnePlus’ OxygenOS skin on top.
