If you’re a cat owner, or simply like cats, you’re probably on the lookout for some applications that will either help you take care of your pet, or simply provide some fun when you get to sit down for five minutes.
Well, that’s why we’re here, as we did our best to dig out some great apps and games for you to check out. In the list down below, you will find 10 applications, all of which are available in the Google Play Store, and all of which are cat-related, in one way or the other.
To be more precise, we’ve included five regular applications down below, in addition to five cat-themed games. There are quite a few such apps in the Play Store, so it’s possible that some of your favorites are not on this list, as we simply cannot include everything, of course. These are our favorite picks, though, and if you’re interested in finding out more about some cat apps, read on. Before you do, though, do note that we’ll list apps first, and then games.
APCC by ASPCA
This is an official app by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. This app is not strictly for cats, but cats are a part of the content and the app’s focus. This app’s goals is to help owners identify and understand common household hazards which are potentially harmful to their pets, cats included. The provided information comes from expert toxicologists, and you get access to a searchable database of hundreds of plants, household hazards, medications, warm weather toxins, and cold weather toxins that can be found around homes.
Cat Training
If you just got a new kitten, or you simply want to improve your cat’s manners, this app can help you with that. Cat Training app provides detailed instruction for cat training. So, for example, this app will help you toilet-train your cat, as well as learning to be comfortable in a cat carrier. Training to accept medication when needed is also included here, while a cat recall training is also included here. On top of that, the app does provide some additional information about cat behavior.
Rover
If you’re going away for the weekend, and you need someone to take care of your cat, but you don’t have anyone you know that can help you with that… in comes Rover. Rover is a dog walking and pet sitting application, so it can basically help you find suitable cat sitters nearby. Dog sitters will provide photo updates, and all kind of other information to you while you’re away, just for a piece of mind. The developer says that 95-percent of reviewed services receive a perfect 5-star rating, which is encouraging. There are many additional features included here.
11pets
11pets is a pet care application. This app is aimed to provide reminders for caring for your cat, including everything from feeding, managing medication, and so on. The app will also remind you when it’s bath time, while it can keep track of your cat’s vitals as well, such as weight, height, and temperature. The application itself is very detailed, it is well-designed, and it even provides you with a cloud backup for your data.
Pet First Aid
Pet First Aid app comes from the American Red Cross, and it basically gets veterinary advice on the palm of your hand. This app contains videos, interactive quizzes, and simple step-by-step advice for all kinds of situations. You can quickly toggle between cat and dog content, and also customize multiple pet profiles and even set veterinary appointments if needed. The app will also teach you first aid steps for over 25 common pet situations that you may encounter.
Cat Quest
Cat Quest is one of the most popular cat-themed games in the Play Store, though this game is not free. You will have to part with around $6 in order to get it, but it’s well worth it. This is actually an open world RPG game with a cat as the main protagonist, which is not something you see every day. There are over 60 side quests included in this game, and over 60 dungeons that you can explore, not to mention an intriguing plot.
Crashy Cats
Crashy Cats is an immensely fun game. Your goal in this game is to run through various rooms and cause mayhem, pretty much. Making a mess and destroying expensive collectibles and electronics is the main goal in this game. You will run, jump, bounce, and even fly in this game, as you will be collecting rewards / points for the things that you manage to destroy along the way. Ads are here, and so are in-app purchases, but the game is free to play.
Super Phantom Cat 2
Super Phantom Cat 2 is a platformer which reminded us of Super Mario, to a degree. This game is not exactly like Super Mario, but it’s a trippier version of it, with a number of added gameplay elements. Your goal is to rescue your sister, Ina, who has been kidnapped in the mysterious new world. You can break walls in this game, float on balloons, and shrink and enlarge monsters, amongst other things. There are a number of characters you can play as, and the game has plenty of content to offer.
Super Phantom Cat 2 (Play Store)
Nom Cat
Nom Cat is an extremely simple, and yet addictive game. The developer categorizes this game as an “endless arcade game”, and that’s about right. You need to tap and hold the display to open the mounts of both cats on the screen and feed them, with endless waves of fish. You need to avoid flying bombs, though, as cats are not supposed to eat those… naturally. One-touch controls make it easy to play the game, and two players can play this game at the same time on one phone, which is an added bonus.
Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector
Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector is quite a relaxing game. In this game, your goal is to lure cats into your backyard, simply to collect them, it seems. You need to place playthings and snacks in your yard in order to do so, and there are more than 40 varieties of cats included in this game, including some really rare ones. This app even allows you to make albums of your cat photos, or save them to your phone to use them as wallpapers.
