Huawei Mate 30 Pro Specs Appear Months Ahead Of Launch

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro probably won’t arrive until October or November, but despite that, the phone’s specifications have just surfaced. This information comes from China, and quite a few details are revealed here, presuming that the info is accurate, of course.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is expected to ship with the Kirin 985 64-bit octa-core processor. This will be a 7nm processor, notes the source, and it will include the Balong 5000 5G modem in order to offer 5G support, that goes only for the 5G variant of the phone, as the Mate 30 Pro will allegedly be available in both 4G and 5G variants.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is rumored to sport a 6.71-inch OLED display, supplied by BOE. If that info ends up being true, the Mate 30 Pro’s panel will be considerably larger than the one on the Mate 20 Pro, as the Mate 20 Pro features a 6.39-inch OLED panel. Screen resolution info for the Mate 30 Pro’s display is not yet available, notes the source.

The Mate 30 Pro will include an in-display fingerprint scanner, though it is yet unknown whether it will sport advanced facial recognition or not. The Mate 20 Pro actually includes a rather wide notch in order to accommodate sensor for advanced facial scanning, and Huawei may want to avoid doing that with the Mate 30 Pro.

The phone is expected to sport four cameras on the back, says the source, and a ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor will also be a part of the package. The design of its rear-facing camera setup will be extremely similar to the camera setup on the back of the Mate 20 Pro, though an LED flash will sit right in the middle, between the rest of the phone’s cameras.

A 4,200mAh battery is rumored to be included on the Mate 30 Pro, which is not surprising at all, especially if the phone ends up sporting a 6.71-inch panel. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has that very same battery capacity, and a much smaller display. The phone will support 55W SuperCharge fast charging, notes the source, and some of you probably know that the Mate X already supports such charging.

In addition to 55W fast wired charging, the Mate 30 Pro is also rumored to include 10W reverse wireless charging, while fast wireless charging will also be a part of the package. The phone will be made out of metal and glass yet again, just like its predecessor.

In addition to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, the company is also expected to announce the Mate 30 flagship. That device will almost certainly be smaller than the Mate 30 Pro, and if the Mate 20 series is any indication, the Mate 30 will also ship with a flat display.

here may be some difference in terms of the design when it comes to the Mate 30, but we’re only guessing, as neither of the two devices leaked just yet, we’ve only seen some concept renders, nothing else. It is also worth noting that both phones may ship with Android Q, as the Mate 20 series included Android 9 Pie out of the box, but we’ll see.
