At this point, it’s not exactly a secret that the regular OnePlus 7 will resemble the OnePlus 6T, but a screen protector that just surfaced more or less confirms that. This seems to be a tempered glass screen protector, and as you can see, it suggests a teardrop display notch will be included on the device.
The OnePlus 7 actually surfaced in a number of renders yesterday, so we even know what the phone is expected to look at this point. The OnePlus 7 will be extremely similar to the OnePlus 6T, though there will be one design difference that will help you differentiate between the two, the placement of the phone’s LED flash on the back. On the OnePlus 6T, it is placed outside the camera setup on the back, while on the OnePlus 7, it will be a part of that protruding part of the phone.
The OnePlus 7 will be announced right alongside the OnePlus 7 Pro, and presumably the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. The OnePlus 7 series will become official on May 14, and OnePlus already announced its press conferences for the said date, the company plans to host several press conferences at the same time.
The OnePlus 7 will be inferior to the OnePlus 7 Pro, but it will share a number of its specifications / features with its larger sibling. Both phones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor, while both devices are expected to ship with UFS 3.0 flash storage. The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will actually be the first two smartphones to ship with UFS 3.0, as the Galaxy Fold got postponed.
The two phones will ship with Android 9 Pie out of the box, with OnePlus’ OxygenOS included on top of it. Both devices will ship with a 48-megapixel main camera on the back (with a slightly different aperture), and both will be made out of metal and glass.
The OnePlus 7 will include a 6.41-inch fullHD+ flat display, presumably the same one that the company included on the OnePlus 6T. The OnePlus 7 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to ship with a 6.67-inch QHD+ curved Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and that panel will be HDR10+ certified.
The OnePlus 7 will support 20W fast charging if rumors are accurate, while the OnePlus 7 Pro will ship with support for 30W Warp Charge. Neither of the two phones will support wireless charging, though, nor will they include an official IP rating. OnePlus did say that both phones will be water resistant, though.
These two phones are both expected to include stereo speakers, and if that happens, they will be the very first OnePlus-branded phones to include such a setup. An optical fingerprint scanner will be included below the display on both phones.
The OnePlus 7 is expected to include two cameras on the back, while the OnePlus 7 Pro will boast three cameras back there. The OnePlus 7 will, presumably, lack the telephoto camera on the back, but we’ll see what OnePlus has in mind.
