Redmi K20 Pro Will Be A True Android Flagship

Redmi had confirmed “Redmi K20” name of its upcoming flagship series of devices, and a detailed spec sheet has just surfaced for the more powerful of the two devices, the Redmi K20 Pro.

According to the provided info, the Redmi K20 Pro will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor, while it will feature a 6.39-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) Super AMOLED display. The phone’s display aspect ratio will be approximately 91.2-percent, and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 will protect the phone’s display.

The device will arrive in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. The 6GB RAM model will include 64GB and 128GB of storage, while the 8GB RAM options will arrive in 128GB and 256GB storage options.

A 4,000mAh battery will also be a part of the package, and it will not be removable. Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on the phone, along with Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 skin by Xiaomi. The phone will include fast charging, Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ (27W charging), to be exact.

A 3.5mm headphone jack will be included, as will a Type-C USB port. The same can be said for an NFC chip, and a 6th generation optical in-display fingerprint scanner. A 20-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) will sit on the device’s front side.

On the back of the device, you’ll be able to find a 48-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture) main camera, along with 13-megapixel (f/2.4 aperture, ultrawide lens) and 8-megapixel (f/2.4 aperture, telephoto lens) secondary units.

The source also notes that the Redmi K20 Pro will ship in Flame Red, Glacier Blue, and Carbon Fibre Black color variants. That is pretty much all the information the source shared this time around.

The Redmi K20 Pro will be joined by the Redmi K20, which will be inferior to the K20 Pro. Both phones are expected to ship with the Snapdragon 855, though, and the K20 will also be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM options, according to recent rumors.

Both devices will be made out of metal and glass, though it’s still unclear whether they will differ in any other way. Redmi’s CEO suggested that the company’s upcoming flagship will not include a pop-up camera, and despite that, we’ve seen a number of leaks which show off the alleged Redmi K20 (Pro) with a pop-up camera.

If it doesn’t end up sporting a pop-up selfie camera, we’ll probably see a display camera hole on the device, on both of them, actually. Both phones will probably include a flat display, though it remains to be seen.

The Redmi K20 series is expected to become official in the near future, but Redmi still did not share a concrete date for that event. We’re guessing that both phones will become official in the coming weeks, maybe even before the end of May.

Both the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are expected to be quite affordable, despite the fact they will pack in flagship specs. The starting price tag for the Redmi K20 is expected to be well below the price tag for the Xiaomi Mi 9, and the Mi 9 is already quite affordable, at least compared to the competition.
