OnePlus’ third color for the 7 Pro is now available in the US and Canada, with the UK coming next month. That new color is “Almond”, which is a pretty nice color for the OnePlus 7 Pro.
The Almond color here, is sort of like the “gold” color that Apple did for the iPhone Xs last year. The frame is a more pronounced gold color, while the backside is a much lighter gold color, that does really look like an almond. It’s a more glossy color for the OnePlus 7 Pro, so it’s not a matte finish like the Nebula Blue. So keep that in mind if you are looking to purchase this one.
Basically, it’s going to be slippery and hold onto fingerprints pretty easily.
OnePlus is only selling the Almond color in one storage/RAM capacity, which is the middle model. That includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $699. That is a smart thing for OnePlus to do, as it is likely going to be the most popular storage/RAM configuration out of the three. Even at $699, this is a pretty good steal for most people.
On OnePlus’ website, it mentions that it will ship within 14 days. This is likely because a lot of people are purchasing this phone right now, and it is likely going to ship well before those 14 days are up. OnePlus has learned to under-promise and over-deliver. So if it says 14 days and it ships within three days, its customers won’t be upset, in fact, they’ll be ecstatic.
Inside, the Almond OnePlus 7 Pro is the same as the regular OnePlus 7 Pro. That includes the 6.67-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display, with the Snapdragon 855 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 4000mAh capacity battery. Unfortunately for T-Mobile customers, it doesn’t look like it’ll be selling the Almond color of the OnePlus 7 Pro. It appears that it is only selling the Nebula Blue color. Which is going to be fine for most people. But if you were looking to get the Almond color, then you’re going to need to purchase it from OnePlus’ own website. Remember that this is a limited edition, so it’s likely that it won’t be available for long, and if you do really want one, you aren’t going to want to wait long to get your order in.
The OnePlus 7 Pro is a pretty impressive smartphone, and whether you do buy a phone for its color or not, the Almond color here is definitely worth picking up. Especially if you like lighter color phones. But you will still want to put it in a case, as this phone is going to be very slippery, and the last thing you’ll want to do is drop your brand new OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone and crack that display. The Almond color is going to be much more slippery.
