CHUWI LapBook Plus Coming With A 4K Display & A 256GB SSD

CHUWI has just announced that it will release a new laptop soon. The company says that the name of this product is “CHUWI LapBook Plus”, and the company did share some spec info regarding the product, along with some renders.

The CHUWI LapBook Plus will feature a 4K “ultra clear” display and dual SSD expansion, says the company. The device will sport a 15.6-inch 3840 x 2160 IPS display with a 282 PPI. This display will support HDR, and it will come with 100-percent sRGB color gamut and 16.7 million colors.

CHUWI’s upcoming laptop will be fueled by Intel’s Apollo lake chip, a quad-core, four-thread processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The device will support 4K hard-decoding, and will have HD Graphics 505.

On top of that, this product will pack in 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and 256GB of storage (SSD) + M.2 SSD storage. Its keyboard would be exactly what you’d expect out of CHUWI’s laptops, and it will be backlit, says the company.

CHUWI says that this will be a “lightweight laptop for video and music”. The device will weigh only 1.52kg, while it will be only 6mm thick at its thinnest part. Most 15.6-inch laptops out there weight 2.5kg, and are considerably thicker than the CHUWI LapBook Plus.

On top of everything we’ve mentioned, this laptop will ship with a 36.5Wh battery on the inside, which should provide you with plenty of usage time before you reach for the charger, as the chip that CHUWI will use is quite power efficient.

In terms of the design, you can see that it will be made out of metal, and it actually reminds us of Apple’s MacBook’s, at least based on the provided renders. Bezels around the display will not be too thick, and the company will combine gray and black colors for its design, it seems. The device’s chassis will be gray, while its keyboard will be black.

One of the provided renders actually confirms that a 3.5mm headphone jack will be included in the package, while you will also get an SD card reader and a USB port on the right side. The provided image is not the largest, but those ports are clearly visible.

A large trackpad will be included below the CHUWI LapBook Plus’ keyboard, which is something most people will appreciate. CHUWI had announced that the LapBook Plus will be officially released in July, but did not provide us with an exact date or anything of the sort.
