Ben Geskin is well-known in the tech community for releasing concept designs of upcoming phones, amongst other things, and he just shared two images which are showing the Google Pixel 4.
These two images are showing the front and back design of the Google Pixel 4, along with the bottom and its sides. Most of you probably already know that Google kind of revealed the Pixel 4’s partial design a couple of days ago, as the company shared an image of the phone via its official Twitter handle.
In its post, Google shared the back side of the device, but these sketches also give us a glimpse of the phone’s front side as well. On the back, the Pixel 4 will include a rather large camera setup in the top-left corner, and it seems like two cameras will be included there, along with an LED flash, and some additional sensors.
Google’s logo will be placed in the bottom portion of the phone’s back side, and it seems like the phone’s back will be flat, though its edges will be curved, just so the phone fits well in the hand. The phone’s rear-facing cameras will protrude a bit, and the power / lock key will sit on the phone’s right-hand side.
Based on the sketch that Mr. Geskin shared, the Pixel 4 will include rather thin bezels all around, while a 3.5mm headphone jack is not placed on the bottom of the phone. In fact, a 3.5mm headphone jack probably won’t be a part of the package at all, as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL did not sport one… the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL did, though. Well, there’s always a chance that headphone jack will sit at the top of the phone, but that’s highly unlikely.
You will notice an earpiece at the top of the phone’s display, and this sketch actually makes it look like that earpiece will be a cutout in the display. Well, that probably won’t be the case, Mr. Geskin already shared some renders of the Pixel 4’s possible design recently, and it seems like front-facing cameras will flank that earpiece, which means that we’ll get a bezel up top.
The Pixel 4’s top bezel will be thicker than the bottom one, at least if all of these “possible designs” are to be believed, as several of them reported that will be the case. Do note that every single image of the Pixel 4’s front side that we’ve seen thus far is more a guess rather than anything else, as Google only confirmed the design of the phone’s back side, and we did not see a leak from a trusted source regarding all that. All in all, take this sketch with a grain of salt.
The Google Pixel 4 series is expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of the year, unless Google is planning to mess with its release cycle. The Google Pixel 3 arrived back in October last year, and its successor is expected to land in either September or October, it depends.
Google will probably release both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL as part of the Pixel 4 series, and the two phones are actually expected to look the same this time around, but the Pixel 4 will be considerably smaller. The two phones will both be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 SoC, while they will both ship with Android Q out of the box, and offer the same camera setups, almost certainly.
