Tech firm Ninety7 recently released a new indoor power adapter that works with Google’s Nest Hello video doorbell.
Nest Hello video doorbell is a popular smart home product from Google, and it permits homeowners to identify people at the front door without actually approaching the house entrance. However, installing the video doorbell requires that the home has existing wiring for the doorbell and chimes. Furthermore, these wires should supply sufficient power to the device.
Nonetheless, in case that the residence lacks the necessary electrical circuits, or it currently uses battery-powered doorbells, they may choose to use the smart home device along with indoor power adapter manufactured by Ninety7. This new power adapter recently gained the “Made by Google” certification, which means that the accessories will work well with products released by the search giant. Interestingly, Nest recommends on its official website to use Ninety7’s power adapter in case that there is no existing wiring for the video doorbell. Moreover, the device maker’s official website provides detailed instructions on how to install the video doorbell and connect the device to electric supply using the latest product from Ninety7.
The indoor power adapter from Ninety7 features US-style blades, which limits the use of the device to the USA and Canada markets. The power adapter also comes with a 20-foot-long cable to connect the power supply with the video doorbell, while the end of the cable features a Y-spade, making it easy for the homeowner to connect the cable to the Nest Hello device. Also included with the product are ten cable clips and one wall grommet.
The manufacturer, however, reminds users that the power adapter is for indoor use only, which means that people should not use the product on power sockets located outside the residence. The device is currently available on the Google Store, and interested consumers may purchase the power adapter for $29.
The indoor power adapter is just one of the products that Ninety7 already released for Google smart devices. The company previously launched LOFT and JOT products for the Google Home and the Home Mini, respectively. These two products serve as portable battery bases for the two smart speakers, letting users unplug the devices and bring their smart speakers anywhere they want. Both accessories offer up to eight hours of battery life to the Google Home and Home Mini, although the actual length of battery life could change based on the person’s use.
The release of an indoor power adapter for the Nest Hello will make it easier for homeowners who do not have the necessary wiring in place to install the video doorbell. Given that more people are purchasing video doorbells to improve the security of their homes, Nest could benefit from the launch of the power adapter since people may opt to purchase devices that do not require extra work to install, and the new product from Ninety7 surely makes the installation process faster.
Moving forward, Ninety7 claims that it is working on more products that support smart home devices, some of which will be compatible with products released by Google.
