Following the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 images that surfaced yesterday, the device’s specifications have just appeared as well. This information comes from 91mobiles, and it shares some info on Samsung’s upcoming flagship tablet.
This tablet was expected to be called the Galaxy Tab S5, but Samsung will allegedly opt for the Galaxy Tab S6 name, for one reason or the other. In any case, according to the source, the Galaxy Tab S6 will become the world’s first tablet to include an in-display fingerprint scanner.
It is still unknown whether Samsung plans to include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner in this tablet, or an ultrasonic one it used in the Galaxy S10 series. Chances are that the latter one will be included, though.
The device will feature a Super AMOLED display, and will be fueled by the most powerful processor Qualcomm has to offer at the moment, the Snapdragon 855. As a reminder, the Galaxy Tab S4, which arrived last year, featured the Snapdragon 835, not the Snapdragon 845, so Samsung is going for the latest and greatest this time around.
Images that surfaced yesterday showed us that the device will include two cameras on the back, and now we know that those will be 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras. That 5-megapixel camera will actually be an ultrawide angle one, while an 8-megapixel camera will be included on the device’s front side.
The source also notes that the device will be available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants, while you will be able to expand upon that by using a microSD card, up to 512GB. RAM info has not been leaked, but the source guesses that we’ll get at least 6GB of RAM inside this tablet, if not 8GB.
The tablet is said to offer up to 15 hours of usage on a single charge, and its battery will support fast charging, though we don’t have any info just yet. AKG-tuned speakers will be a part of the package, and the Galaxy Tab S4 will include four of those.
An optional keyboard accessory will be available with the device as well, while the Galaxy Tab S4 will also have support for Samsung DeX. A brand new S Pen stylus will ship with this tablet, and you will be able to attach it to the back of the device thanks to magnets. That stylus will allow you to pause and sip videos, and also jump to the next slide, if you’re in the middle of a presentation or something.
We still do not know when will the Galaxy Tab S6 arrive, but this is all the info that was shared by the source. The Galaxy Tab S4 arrived back in August last year, and chances are that the same will happen with the Galaxy Tab S6 in August this year. This device may even arrive alongside the Galaxy Note10 series, we’ll see. The Galaxy Tab S6 will probably be more expensive than the Galaxy Tab S4 when it launched, due to the latest processor, and the general price hike compared to last year.
