The Redmi Note 8 series announcement is right around the corner. The company had confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro will become official on August 29. In addition to that, MediaTek had confirmed that the two phones will ship with the Helio G90T SoC.
Well, a plethora of new information regarding the Note 8 Pro leaked. The phone’s real-life images surfaced, some official renders, and additional info. Let’s kick things off with images, though, and we’ll go from there.
Pre-launch official renders
Redmi actually shared some official renders of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. This only confirms leaks we’ve seen thus far, and a couple of renders that Redmi shared previously. You can clearly see that the phone will have a 64-megapixel main camera on the back. In addition to that, the company will pack in three additional sensors back there. An LED flash is also visible, as is Redmi’s branding.
The phone’s back side will be curved, and the device will be made out of metal and glass. All the physical buttons will sit on the right, and we still do not know what will its front side look like. The front side did get shown in one of those renders, but it has been edited so that we can’t see any details. That’s where real-life images come in, though, as they leaked as well, and shown the front side of the device.
Real-life images
Real-life images surfaced on Weibo (Chinese social media). As you can see down below, they are showing a white-colored Redmi Note 8 Pro. These images more or less confirm that the phone will include a waterdrop display notch. A thin “chin” will be included below the display, as expected.
One of these images also shows a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom, as expected. Rumors have been confirming that a 3.5mm headphone jack will be included, and that will indeed be the case.
Redmi Note 8 Pro AnTuTu score
This smartphone made its way to AnTuTu as well. The device managed to score 283,333 points with the Helio G90T. This information was shared by Lu Weibing, a Vice President of Xiaomi Group, and general manager of Redmi.
This score is a bit lower than the one the Kirin 980 was able to provide. Huawei’s processor managed to score 301,419, while the Kirin 710 score 214,739 points.
Camera samples
If you’re wondering about the phone’s camera, well, we have some samples for you. Lu Weibing, Redmi’s General Manager which we’ve already mentioned, shared these pictures. One of the images shows Mr. Weibing next to a huge poster, while the other one is a landscape picture of a city.
Both of these images look fairly good, though do note that they have been compressed. Both pictures were captured using a 64-megapixel camera on the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Samsung’s ISOCELL sensor. That sensor is aimed for mid-range smartphones, by the way.
Liquid cooling & battery capacity
The last piece of info that surfaced has to do with the Redmi Note 8 Pro’s cooling system, and battery capacity. Redmi itself confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will feature liquid cooling. Redmi did this in order to appeal to the gaming community. Not everyone has the cash to purchase a high-end gaming phone, so this could be a nice alternative. The Helio G90T is not the most powerful chip out there, but it can handle games really well. A 4,500mAh battery will be included in the phone as well.
