Samsung's New AR Doodle Feature Is Not Part Of The Camera App

Samsung has a new AR feature, called AR Doodle. It’s actually an S Pen feature and not part of the camera. This is despite the fact that you are using the camera for AR Doodle.

When you jump into the camera app, you won’t find the AR Doodle feature in the camera app. Even if you jump into “Edit Modes” you won’t find it. This is because it is in the S Pen menu. So that you need to tap on the icon on the side of the display, and it’ll be the very bottom option, and have a blue icon to the left of the text. Tap on that, and it’ll open the camera app for you to start using the AR Doodle feature.

This is a bit of a weird one from Samsung, considering the fact that this is a camera feature that works with the S Pen, and the smart thing to do would to be to include it in the Camera app and in the S Pen menu. But after a few days of using the Galaxy Note 10, that shouldn’t be a problem. Users will just need to retrain their muscle memory. Which is something you need to do with every new phone anyways.

AR Doodle is actually a pretty cool feature. You can choose from different stickers, or draw on the screen yourself. It will then show up in 3D on the screen, and make for some cool pictures. You can choose to have the AR Doodles follow the person in the shot, or to just have it work on everything. When you see it in action, it makes for a pretty cool feature.

Right now, AR Doodle is only available on the Galaxy Note 10 series. It may come to the Galaxy Note 9 with an update or two, but that’s still pretty unlikely. Samsung has been pushing these new features out to older smartphones, but this is one that it’ll want to use to promote and sell the Galaxy Note 10 smartphones. So don’t expect that to happen anytime soon, if at all.

AR Doodles are going to be the new “it” feature for all of the millennials out there. Especially those that love to take selfies and draw on them afterwards. While this feature was not marketed as being an Instagram feature, it will definitely become one in the near future. And you’ll likely see it all over Instagram once the Galaxy Note 10 does become available.

The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus go up for pre-order tonight at 12:01AM EST, and will be available for consumers to purchase starting on August 23. That means that if you do pre-order one, you’re going to get it in about two weeks time. Which means that it will be in your hands well before the new iPhone is announced. The Galaxy Note 10 actually saw a price drop from the Galaxy Note 9 last year. It’s now $949, while the Galaxy Note 10 Plus is $1099. And of course the Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G is going to start at $1299, similar to the Galaxy S10 5G that launched a couple of months ago.
