Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus (+), and among all of the new features Samsung has slipped in some hardware that is built to deliver optimal performance to the mobile gamer on the go; a cooling vapor chamber.
Samsung wouldn’t be the first company to apply this type of technology and engineering to its devices (the Razer Phone 2 has a vapor chamber in it as well) but it has seemingly improved upon what’s already out there. Samsung is boasting that the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ come with the “world’s slimmest vapor chamber cooling system.”
Given the slimness of the Galaxy Note 10 series devices, a vapor chamber as opposed to a set of heat pipes to help divert some of the heat and have it dissipate allowed Samsung to come up with an efficient way to keep the device cool when the CPU and GPU are being put under heavy stress, in this case, gaming, without having to make the device any thicker or waste space. Now imagine something slimmer, even if only slightly, inside of the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. This design allows for Samsung to efficiently divert heat away from the hottest parts of the phone to keep it running at peak performance while you’re playing mobile games that demand high performance, like Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and others.
Alongside the vapor chamber cooling system, the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ also come with Game Booster, a technology powered by artificial intelligence that analyzes the game you’re playing and uses that information to optimize the performance of the CPU and GPU while also optimizing the power consumption to fit the needs of the game.
In other words if you’re playing something more casual the CPU and GPU won’t be eating up as much power and won’t need to boost performance as much. If you switch things up to something much more demanding you can expect the power consumption to rise along with the increase in performance to meet those demands, hopefully giving you the best possible gaming experience.
While these are the bigger gaming-focused features they certainly aren’t the only specs that will factor into the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ being an excellent choice for mobile gaming. Both phones come with big, edge-to-edge displays; the Galaxy Note 10 with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display and the Galaxy Note 10+ with a larger and sharper 6.8-inch Quad HD+ display. Both are Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O panels and HDR10+ certified.
Both phones also come with stereo speakers powered by AKG audio, and both phones come with a significant amount of RAM. The Galaxy Note 10 comes with 8GB while the Galaxy Note 10+ comes with a whipping 12GB, and both are powered by 7nm 64-bit Octa-core processors. In short, more RAM than you’ll need for most or all current mobile games on the market along with some of the latest chipsets.
Will the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ be your only options for phones if you’re big into mobile gaming? No. Will be they be the best options? Who can say? What’s certain is that they will both be excellent choices and deliver great gaming performance based on the hardware and features.
