Latest Pixel 4 Leak Just Spoiled Google's Big Camera Feature

While this week is IFA and the spotlight is on a bunch of other phones, that’s not keeping the latest Pixel 4 leak from coming out.

This one comes our way from Weibo (pictures have since been removed and rehosted on CNMO) and actually shows us a few things we didn’t know about before. And one is a big camera feature that Google is going to be touting on the Pixel 4, come October.

The Pixel 4 will likely sport 8X Zoom

According to one of the images in the leak from Weibo, it appears that the camera is going to be capable of doing up to 8X zoom. That is pretty impressive when you think about it. Most phones do about 3X or 5X zoom, let alone 8X Zoom.

And knowing how well Google does with its camera features, this is likely going to be a pretty good zoom feature.

Meaning that it’s not going to be super grainy, like zooming in on something like a Galaxy Note 10 Plus would be today.

Of course, there’s still going to be a lot of questions about this 8X Zoom that needs to be answered. Like is this digital or optical? Depending on what that second sensor is, it could be either or. Also, is this lossless zoom or not? And how is Google able to achieve it?

We’ve seen Google work its camera magic for a couple of years now with the Pixel lineup, so this is going to get a lot of people excited.

6GB of RAM is once again confirmed

Just about any leak for the Pixel 4 that has talked about specs, has shown us that it will have 6GB of RAM.

This leak does that as well.

It looks like RAM management may not be a problem this time, especially since the screenshot we see, says that it is only using about 60-percent of the available RAM.

That was a big issue with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL last year. RAM management was terrible, thanks to the camera using so much of it – and there only being 4GB. So this bump to 6GB should definitely fix some of the major issues that the Pixel 3 line had last year.

The Pixel 4 won’t be announced by Google until October, so it’s likely that we are going to have a month full of leaks and rumors about the two devices. Especially since most other flagships have been announced already, now that IFA is all but over.
