The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are amongst the most anticipated smartphones of this year. We’ve seen quite a bit of info regarding both phones, and the Pixel 4 XL just surfaced in a video as well.
This video popped up on YouTube, and it’s quite short. The video has a duration of about 10 seconds, but it gives us a pretty good look at the device.
This is essentially a hands-on video with the Pixel 4 XL. The video title says “Pixel 4”, but we’re pretty sure that’s the larger of the two Pixel phones. Its in-video size is kind of revealing.
It seems like pretty much every leak we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks, even months, was spot on. Well, at least in terms of the design. The Pixel 4 series will be exactly what we expect it to be in that regard.
The two Pixel 4 phones will sport the same design
The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are said to look exactly the same, so it doesn’t really matter which is shown here. As you can see, the Pixel 4 XL will be made out of metal and glass.
The phone will feature a flat display, and its top bezel will be thicker than its bottom one. Its bezels will not be thick in general, but that “forehead” is there for a reason.
Google plans to fit two cameras up there, along with a bevy of sensors. The Pixel 4 series will feature the “Motion Sense” feature thanks to those sensors. Motion Sense should make it possible for a user to use air gestures, and not feel like they’re there just as a gimmick.
This functionality will be implemented as part of Google’s Project Soli, so the Pixel 4 phones are said to include radar gestures, essentially.
Odd-looking rear camera setup
The phone seems to include three cameras on the back, below which an LED flash will be located. This design isn’t exactly flashy, but it does differentiate itself from the rest of the market. The main differentiating points are the “forehead”, and that camera setup on the back.
This video also confirms that a fingerprint scanner will be placed on the right. In addition to that, you can clearly see that a 3.5mm headphone jack will not be a part of the design.
The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are rumored to arrive in October, we don’t know when just yet, though.
Both phones will probably be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 Plus, while the Pixel 4 will be considerably smaller than the Pixel 4 XL. You can expect at least 6GB of RAM included in both devices, if not more. If you’d like to know more, check out our Google Pixel 4 preview.
