Latest Pixel 4 Leak Shows Off Next-Generation Google Assistant

Pixel 4 leaks are everywhere, and now we’re seeing a bit more details on features like the next generation Google Assistant. Which is going to be part of the new Pixel 4 when it is announced next week.

Thanks to NextRift, who has gotten their hands on an early Pixel 4 XL unit, we’re seeing everything there is to see about the new Pixel 4 XL. And now they’re back with some more features of the Pixel 4. Which includes the next generation Google Assistant.

It’s fast, but we already knew that

The next generation Google Assistant on Pixel is going to be fast. But that’s something we already knew. Because Google told us this when it announced it at Google I/O back in May.

However, it is good to see this in real-life on a real device.

It’s able to be much faster because it now runs on-device instead of needing to transmit data to the cloud. It also uses a lot less space on your device, which is important for those wither cheaper phones that might not have a lot of storage.

In addition to Google Assistant being much faster, it also has a new look, and it looks pretty slick. It’s a gradient that blends into the rest of the screen, when you squeeze to bring up the Assistant.

Other Pixel 4 features detailed

The publication also detailed a number of other features that the Pixel 4 has. And some that it is bringing back from previous Pixel smartphones. Like the Active Edge, allowing you to squeeze to bring up Google Assistant.

Ambient EQ is available on the Pixel 4. We’ve seen this in previous leaks too, so it’s not exactly new. But it’s essentially Google’s version of True Tone. It will adjust the white balance of the display to match the lighting in your room. Which isn’t going to be super noticeable for a lot of people, but it is a big deal.

There’s no micro SD card slot, and no second SIM slot. Big surprise there, not really. Pixels have never had a micro SD card slot. But it may get a second SIM slot in some regions that need it, like India and Africa.

The camera samples from the front-facing camera do look pretty impressive, when compared to the Galaxy S10+. Showing that the Pixel 4 XL is going to still have one of the best cameras out there. It’s still a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The publication also mentions that it’ll be running Android 10, which is no surprise at all. And finally, it was put next to the Galaxy S10+ and Pixel 3a XL. It’s about the same size as the Pixel 3a XL, but smaller than the Galaxy Note 10, according to NextRift.
