Nubia had introduced its new flagship, the Nubia Z20, on August 8 in China. Well, it has been about a month and a half since then, and the company just announced the phone’s global release date.
Coming on October 14 to the UK, US, Canada, and Europe
By doing this, Nubia officially confirmed that the Nubia Z20 will arrive to countries around the globe. The phone’s global release date has been set for October 14, when the phone will hit the UK, the US, Canada, and Europe.
It seems like Nubia is not planning on hosting a press conference, though. The company told us that the phone will become available on October 14 at nubia.com. Nubia also confirmed that the phone will be available in Twilight Blue and Diamond Black color variants. There was no mention of a press event whatsoever.
You can win a free Nubia Z20
The company also announced that it is giving a chance to its consumer to win a free Nubia Z20. If you don’t manage to win the Nubia Z20, you can also win some gift cards from Amazon and Google Play, along with some other prizes. Click here if you’d like to know more.
Having said that, the Nubia Z20 did already launch in China, so we pretty much know what to expect. The company has actually confirmed that the 6GB RAM model will not be available on a global scale. The global variant of the phone will include 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
The Nubia Z20 is a phone which comes with two displays, which makes it quite interesting. Thanks to that fact, its triple camera setup on the back is used as both a rear-camera setup, and a front-camera setup.
The device includes extremely thin bezels, and no display notch or hole. The back side of the device is curved, as is the front. Interestingly enough, this phone comes with two side-facing fingerprint scanners, one on the left, one on the right.
The phone also features FIT4.0 pressure-sensitive frame with custom long and short grip shortcut functions. This can come in really handy for gaming, for example.
The Snapdragon 855 Plus, 12GB of RAM and two displays
The Nubia Z20 sports a 6.42-inch fullHD+ curved AMOLED display on the front. On the back, you’ll find a 5.1-inch HD+ AMOLED panel. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 855 Plus 64-bit octa-core processor.
A 4,000mAh battery is included here, and it supports 27W fast PD charging, and Quick Charge 4.0. Two SIM cards are included here, and the phone supports 4G LTE with VoLTE.
The Nubia Z20 features 48-megapixel (Sony’s IMX586 sensor, 0.8um pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, OIS), 16-megapixel (122.2-degree, ultra-wide lens, 2.5cm macro), and 8-megapixel (telephoto, 3x lossless zoom, 30x digital zoom) cameras.
The phone measures 158.63 x 75.26 x 9mm, while it weighs 186 grams. Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on the phone, along with the Nubia UI 7.0, at least on the Chinese variant. We’re pretty sure the same will be the case with the global model, though. In the galleries down below, you can find images of the phone itself, and some camera samples as well. Do note that these camera samples have been resized to a fullHD resolution, though.
