Xiaomi Intros Mi Full Screen TV Pro Series With 8K Video Playback

The very first product that Xiaomi announced during today’s press conference is a TV. Well, to be exact, the company announced a new series of TVs. The so-called Mi Full Screen TV Pro series have been introduced.

Three Mi Full Screen TV Pro series TVs got announced

Xiaomi actually showed off three new TVs as part of this series of devices. 43-inch, 55-inch, and 64-inch 4K TVs have been announced.

As you can see in the provided image, those three TVs look the same, but they’re different in terms of size. Bezels are extremely thin on the Mi Full Screen TV Pro series, the thickest one is the bottom one. In fact, these TVs come with a 97-percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Mi Full Screen TV Pro TVs are fueled by the Amologic 12nm T972 processor. This is a brand new processor which was jointly developed by Xiaomi and Amologic.

This is a quad-core processor which comes with the A55 processor architecture. It can be clocked up to 1.9GHz, and it promises 63-percent better performance. On top of that, you can expect an improved power efficiency compared to the previous model, up to 55-percent.

This processor and TVs, at the same time, support 8K video playback. A 9th-gen image processing engine also has something to do with it, of course.

Xiaomi’s new TVs are made out of aluminum, while they have a 3D kevlar back design. So that kevlar is basically applied on top of aluminum.

These TVs also come with AIOT smart interconnection in order to be able to communicate with IoT devices, display IT devices’ status, support voice control, and so on. These TVs also run Patchwall AI, while Xiaomi’s XiaoAI AI assistant comes pre-installed.

High resolution, HDR10 support & 8K video playback

All three TVs come with the same resolution of 3840 x 2160, and have displays with viewing angles of up to 178 degrees. All three TVs support HDR10 as well.

In addition to supporting 8K video playback, Mi Full Screen TV Pro series of TVs support H.264 as well. All three TVs come with stereo speakers, and both DTS and Dolby Audio support.

WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) is supported here, while these TVs also support Bluetooth. Three HDMI ports are included on all of them (1 contains ARC), the same goes for two USB ports, and an Ethernet port.

The 43-inch Mi Full Screen TV Pro variant is priced at 1,499 Yuan ($210) in China. The 55-inch model costs 2,399 Yuan ($337), while the 65-inch model will set you back 3,399 Yuan ($477). All three models are available to pre-order today, and will go on sale on September 27 in China. We still do not know if these TVs will make it to other markets, though.
