Xiaomi Mi MIX 4, Mi 9 Pro & MIUI 11 Coming On September 24: Official

Xiaomi has just revealed the launch date for two of its flagship smartphones. The company will announce the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and Mi 9 Pro on September 24 in China.

Xiaomi revealed this information via its official Weibo (Chinese social network) account. To make things even more interesting, the company also said that both of these will be 5G handsets.

We’re still not sure if they will arrive in 5G variants only, or will we see both 4G and 5G models. The latter is more probable, though, as 4G variants would be more affordable than 5G ones due to the Snapdragon X50 modem.

MIUI 11 & Xiaomi Mi TVs also coming

Those two devices are not the only products Xiaomi will announce during this launch event. The company is also planning to announce MIUI 11, and new Xiaomi Mi TVs.

MIUI 11 is a brand new version of Xiaomi’s Android skin. It is expected to bring a number of improvements, both in the design and functionality departments. MIUI 11 will be based on Android 10, in case you were wondering. That essentially means that both Mi MIX 4 and Mi 9 Pro will ship with Android 10 out of the box.

The all-new Xiaomi Mi TVs did leak quite recently, well, one of them has. Xiaomi is expected to announce several new Mi TVs, at least according to rumors. We’re still not sure on the details, though.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is actually a really well-kept secret. That is quite surprising, as we usually see plenty of leaks when it comes to Xiaomi’s phones, much before they’re announced. One sketchy leak of the Mi MIX 4 surfaced the other day, and it seems like that leak was not legit.

Both Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and Mi MIX Alpha may launch

Xiaomi is rumored to introduce more than one variant of the device, though. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 may be accompanied by the Mi MIX Alpha / Mi MIX 4 Alpha.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 series will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 Plus. A 108-megapixel camera is expected to be included on the back of the device. The phone will include at least three cameras, and will ship with extremely thin bezels.

The Xiaomi Mi MI 4 is expected not to include a display hole or a display notch. Some rumors suggested that the phone may ship with an under-display camera, but that’s not likely. There’s a higher chance that we’ll see a pop-up selfie camera on the phone. The Mi MIX Alpha may surprise us, though, Xiaomi may be looking to differentiate this phone somehow.

30W Mi Charge Turbo wireless charging will be included

The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro will be a refreshed variant of the Mi 9. The phone will probably look quite similar to the Mi 9, but will include a brand new Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC. On top of that, the phone will support Xiaomi’s new 30W Mi Charge Turbo wireless charging. The Mi MIX 4 is expected to support that very same charging, by the way.

The Mi 9 Pro will probably look the same as the Mi 9, at least that’s what’s expected. It will include a waterdrop display notch, glass + metal build, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
