An official Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha unboxing is here. This is the company’s most expensive smartphone to date, and Xiaomi did its best to put up a compelling package for it.
Stealthy packaging with imprinted branding
If you take a look at the video provided down below, you’ll get to check out the whole unboxing. You’re greeted by a stealthy black box with an engraved “MIX Alpha” branding on top of it.
Inside of that box, is another curved box which contains the device itself. On top of the phone, you’ll notice a cardboard plate on which the company engraved the “α” symbol, along with the “MIX” branding.
This video will actually show you the device in action. It will show you its pressure-sensitive display in action. In other words, you’ll see how the phone’s sides are being used, to raise / lower volume, and so on.
Some information will be portrayed on the back of the display as well, in some apps. In most apps, however, which are not optimized, you’ll see only your wallpaper back there.
You can see the phone’s charging brick in this unboxing, along with a Type-C charging cable. A dongle for a 3.5mm headphone jack is also included in the package. All of those accessories are white-colored, by the way.

Now, those of you who have been skeptical when it comes to the Mi MIX Alpha cases, well, an official one is pictured here. This case snaps on, and it covers parts of the phone’s display when closed. It opens up like a book.
Truth be said, this case is not much of a protection for the device, but it’s better than nothing. Xiaomi may offer some additional cases for the phone, though.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha was expected to arrive, and yet it managed to surprise people quite a bit. This phone’s display wraps around the whole device, which is a first for a smartphone.
