CHUWI UBook Pro Indiegogo Campaign Is Now Up And Running

The CHUWI UBook Pro is now launched on Indiegogo. We’ve talked about this tablet / laptop hybrid several times thus far, and the campaign has finally kicked off.

The CHUWI UBook Pro Indiegogo campaign hasn’t even been up for 24 hours at this point, and the company already crushed its goal. CHUWI was aiming to get at least $12,748 for the product to become a reality, and it has collected almost $110,000 at the time of writing this article (from 228 backers).

CHUWI UBook Pro campaign raised a ton of cash in less than 24 hours

In other words, CHUWI managed to rake in over 850-percent more cash than it originally planned to in less than 24 hours. There are still 30 days to go, by the way, so there’s no doubt that CHUWI’s Indiegogo campaign will raise a lot more money for the CHUWI UBook Pro.

That amount of money pretty much guarantees that the CHUWI UBook Pro is coming. CHUWI will probably offer a number of additional incentives to backers in the coming weeks as well.

If you’d like to support CHUWI’s project, you can get the 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD storage variant of the UBook Pro for $449. You can also back the company by getting the special bundle (UBook Pro + type cover + 2048 active stylus) for $499.

CHUWI also said that it will provide a limited $20 off perk for early subscribers. That basically means that the company will hand out a ton of discounts, considering how many people backed the project already.

Two SoC variants are available

Now, those two price points that we’ve mentioned are for the Intel Core m3-8100Y SoC variant of the device. If you’d like to get an even more affordable variant of the UBook Pro, you can splash out $399 for the Intel Gemini Lake N4100 SoC variant.

The CHUWI UBook Pro is essentially a tablet that comes with a kickstand. If you attach the Type Cover to it, however, it becomes a tablet, essentially.

The CHUWI UBook Pro is made out of metal, and its bezels are not too thick. The device features a 12.3-inch fullHD IPS display, and supports up to 2,048 levels of active stylus pressure.

The device weighs 780 grams, and is only 9mm thick. This tablet comes with two USB-A ports, and one USB-C port. An HDMI port is also included, as is a port for charging.

The device includes a 38Wh battery, and supports PD2.0 fast charging. The company says that you can fully charge this device in 1.5 hours.
