OnePlus 7 Series Android 10 Rollout Continues With OxygenOS 10.1

OnePlus had started rolling out Android 10 to the OnePlus 7 series smartphones at the end of September. Just to be clear, we’re talking about a stable update. The company halted that rollout soon after, as it spotted some bugs. Well, the company has now continued with the rollout, but it’s rolling out a new version of Android 10.

Android 10 is once again rolling out to OnePlus 7 series

The initial rollout started with OxygenOS 10.0 installed on top of Android 10. Well, this time around, the company is pushing out OxygenOS 10.0.1. The company did not really elaborate on what bugs were spotted in the initial build.

The changelog for OxygenOS 10.0.1 is the same as for OxygenOS 10.0. OnePlus basically listed all the features that it added with OxygenOS 10.0 and Android 10. This is not exactly that odd, as OxygenOS 10.0.1 is just a hotfix update.

The company also notes that this rollout is also staged. That is something OnePlus does with all of its updates, so that it can spot bugs before the update reaches everyone. Presuming that no additional bugs surfaced, every owner of the OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro will get the update within a week.

Android 10 with OxygenOS 10.0.1 brings a ton of new features to the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. OnePlus OxygenOS design to be in line with Android 10, while you’ll find some new customization features in the Settings.

This update brings many changes to OnePlus’ handsets

New gesture navigation has also been added. That horizontal line which is placed at the bottom of the display can now be utilized. It’s not identical to Google’s implementation, but it’s very similar, and possibly even better. OnePlus allows you to remove that horizontal line, if you want, and still keep left and right edge swipes.

OnePlus’ very own gestures navigation solution is still present here, for those of you who prefer that. If you don’t like gesture navigation in general, on-screen buttons are also present.

You can now block spam by keywords in Messages, if you want. This is a very welcome feature for those of you who are getting plenty of spam.

OnePlus has also improved photo quality that the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro can produce with this update.

On top of all that, the “Game Space” feature is also here. This feature joins all your favorite games in one place for easier access. OnePlus says that this will offer a “better gaming experience” to users.

The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro were introduced earlier this year, back in May. They are no longer the latest flagships the company had released, as the OnePlus 7T series smartphones landed not long ago.

The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro are still on the same playing field as the OnePlus 7T phones, though. They are almost as powerful, especially the OnePlus 7 Pro, and this update only brings them closer together.
