OnePlus 7T Series Secrets Revealed Via Official AMA

OnePlus had introduced its OnePlus 7T series in Europe last Thursday. A day after that press event, OnePlus opened up a thread on its official forums. It that thred, it allowed users to submit questions regarding 7T series devices. This is officially called “OnePlus 7T Series AMA”, while AMA stands for “Ask Me Anything”, of course.

Having said that, the company has started answering questions in that thread, as the first batch arrived. Before we get into it, do note that OnePlus announced three smartphones on Thursday. It re-announced the OnePlus 7T for Europe, a device that arrived on September 26. In addition to that, the OnePlus 7T Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition got announced.

OnePlus’ AMA reveals more info on all three OnePlus 7T series smartphones

Users have submitted questions regarding all those three devices. We’ll go through some interesting ones here, while the rest you can check out via the link provided below the article.

One of the users asked why a case hasn’t been provided with the OnePlus 7T Pro. OnePlus replied that it is, a regular silicone case with the OnePlus 7T Pro. A special case comes with the McLaren Edition of the device. That case is actually listed on the company’s website as well, and the company even talked about it during the event. OnePlus included regular, silicone cases with its previous flagships as well (including the OnePlus 7 series devices), so this is not surprising.

The OnePlus 7T Pro features slightly different camera hardware compared to the 7 Pro

Another user was interested in the camera hardware on the OnePlus 7T Pro. He asked whether the camera hardware is the same on the OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T Pro. OnePlus says that it made some adjustments to the lens structure and stacking. It did that so it can enable the macro mode feature on the 7T Pro. The same goes for the OnePlus 7T. Other than that, all other software improvements will come to the OnePlus 7 Pro, confirmed the company.

OnePlus once again reiterated that it is working on an Always-On Display (AOD) feature for its devices. Many people have been complaining because the company removed an LED notification light, so it will try to calm them by releasing an AOD feature in the future.

You’ll soon be able to hide the notch on the OnePlus 7T

Those of you who have been wondering whether the “hide notch” feature will become available for the OnePlus 7T… the answer is yes. OnePlus says that it is in the process of optimizing the feature, so it will arrive soon via an update.

The company also confirmed that a Nylon Bumper Case will be available for the OnePlus 7T Pro only this time around. The OnePlus 7T will not be getting it for whatever reason.

One hand mode is coming to OnePlus’ handsets

Another interesting thing that OnePlus confirmed is one hand mode. The company said that it will consider implementing it in the past, but now the company actually said that it is developing the feature. It also said everyone should “stay tuned”, which suggests we may hear more about it soon.

The company also hinted that it may offer more options in terms of navigation gestures. In other words, it may offer users a chance to fine-tune navigation gestures swipes in the future… such as swipe sensitivity.

Those of you who are wondering which phone to buy, the OnePlus 7T or the OnePlus 7T Pro, do note that the OnePlus 7T display improvements did not make their way to the 7T Pro. OnePlus said that both displays got their fair share of improvements, but not the same ones.

The OnePlus 7T actually has a great display, it is a fullHD+ panel, but it managed to crush the competition in technical tests. OnePlus actually decreased blue light emission by over 40-percent, and that display can get very bright (1,000 nits). Those improvements are not available on the OnePlus 7T Pro, but some other ones OnePlus did not share more info about. If you click the link down below, you’ll be able to see a bunch of additional answers that the company shared.
