Following a bunch of renders Evan Blass shared in the last 24 hours, Motorola’s upcoming foldable phone just appeared in one new image. This time around, we’re looking at a real-life image of the Motorola Razr 2019.
As you can see, the design of this phone definitely goes hand-in-hand with all the renders we’ve seen. This real-life image gives us a good idea as to what to expect in terms of the Motorola Razr 2019 size / footprint.
The Motorola Razr 2019 will be quite tall, real-life image suggests
As expected, this will be a rather tall phone, at least it seems that way. You’ll also notice that its ‘chin’ is quite thick and large in general. That was also expected, as this phone is trying to stay true to the design of the Motorola Razr V3.
When folded, the upper portion of the phone sits right above that chin. The top of the phone then sits flat with the chin, as it did on the original cellphone.
Unlike the original Razr V3, however, the Razr 2019 will feature a foldable display, of course. Its bezels will be considerably thinner as well.
The Motorola Razr 2019 hinge is not visible in this real-life image of the device. We did see that hinge in the renders Evan Blass provided, though, and it looks quite interesting. It’s easy to notice, and yet it doesn’t impact the design of the phone, at least not in renders.
The Motorola Razr 2019 will include a rather odd display shape. Its display will be flat, but its shape won’t be square-ish. The display will protrude a bit on the top and bottom, its curvature won’t be what you’d expect.
The notch will be included here as well, but it also doesn’t look that bad. That notch actually fits right in with the rest of the phone’s design. The phone would look better without it, for sure, but it is what it is.
The phone will include a single camera & probably cost around €1,500
The device will include a single camera, which is not visible in this real-life image of the device. That camera will be used as the phone’s front-facing and rear-facing shooter, depending on whether the phone is folded or not.
The Motorola Razr 2019 is tipped to arrive before the end of this year, and it is expected to cost around €1,500. Nothing has been confirmed just yet, though.
This will be a mid-range smartphone, it seems. It is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 710 64-bit octa-core processor, along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The phone will feature a 6.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2142 x 876, and a 2,730mAh battery. Motorola will try to compete with the likes of Galaxy Fold and Mate X in the market.
