Unannounced Gold OnePlus 7T Variant Shown By The Company's Designer

The OnePlus 7T got announced in two color variants, Frosted Silver and Glacier Blue. Well, a third color option was in consideration by the company, and the company’s designer just shared an image of the Gold OnePlus 7T model.

This image has been shared by Weibo by Rao Han, a OnePlus designer. He is actually an Industrial Design Director at the company. He did not say that this color variant is coming, but that it was considered prior to release.

Hao Ran mentioned that OnePlus always tests out and considers a number of color variants before releasing a phone. This was one of those that they tested, and he asked users one Weibo what they think about it.

The Gold-colored OnePlus 7T may yet make it to the market

If the response ends up being overwhelmingly positive, OnePlus may yet bring it to market. This color variant does look really sleek, as the reflection makes it change shades of gold. It really does look striking in the provided image, though not everyone likes gold-colored devices, of course.

If this color variant ends up being launched, it wouldn’t be the first time OnePlus did something like that. The company launched some new color options for its devices months after those devices became official.

That way, OnePlus can keep the phone fresh, and perhaps attract some users that were not interested in the existing colors. The gold OnePlus 7T may do just that for the company, so we’ll see if it makes it to the market.

If OnePlus decided to pull the trigger on this color variant, it may become available in some markets only. We’re only guessing at this point, though.

The OnePlus 7T was originally announced in September, in the US and India. The European launch followed a month later, in October.

This device is one of two OnePlus-branded flagships out in the market. The 7T Pro is the more expensive model, and the one placed above the 7T in the market, but many people prefer the 7T over the 7T Pro.

The device includes a flat 90Hz display, Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC & 8GB of RAM

The OnePlus 7T does come with a flat display, no moving parts, and a more approachable price tag. It does include the same processor as the OnePlus 7T Pro, and the vast majority of its internals are identical.

The OnePlus 7T features a 6.55-inch fullHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 855 Plus 64-bit octa-core processor, and it includes 8GB of RAM.

UFS 3.0 flash storage is also a part of the package (128GB or 256GB), and so are stereo speakers. Android 10 comes pre-installed on this device, along with OxygenOS 10.
