Galaxy S11+ Will Include A Periscope Camera, Take A Sneak Peak

A well-known tipster, Ice Universe, has just shared the Samsung Galaxy S11+’s rear camera setup. Well, he shared a render that shows most of the Galaxy S11+’s rear-facing cameras (including a periscope one), not all of them.

Before we get into it, it is worth noting that the Galaxy S11+ surfaced in CAD-based renders recently. Ice Universe hinted that those renders are not entirely accurate, while promising to provide more info soon.

Well, it seems camera alignments on the back of those renders were not accurate. Cameras inside the rear-facing camera module were all over the place, while they’re aligned in the render that the tipster shared. That goes for the cameras on the left, at the very least.

The Galaxy S11+ will include a periscope camera, and it’s clearly shown in the provided images

The source notes that we’re looking at the phone’s ultra-wide-angle, main, and periscope cameras here, respectively. The Galaxy S11+ periscope camera is easy to notice, as the camera module is square-ish, not circular. You can also check out a real-life image of that periscope camera in the image provided below this paragraph. The main camera is in the middle, as it is the largest sensor of them all.

As you can see, those three cameras are nicely aligned on the left, but that’s not the whole picture. Some cameras are missing on the right side of that camera module.

The source notes that a ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor is also expected to be included on the back. An LED flash will probably sit within this camera module as well, but we may be missing another camera there.

If the previously-leaked information is accurate, the Galaxy S11+ will include five cameras on the back. So, the main, ultra-wide, periscope, ToF… and what is the last camera? Well, we don’t know just yet. We don’t even know if it will have five cameras, or stick with four, but some new info will probably surface soon.

The phone’s rear-facing camera will be properly aligned after all

It seems like the camera alignment on the back of this phone will not be as bad as initially thought. Samsung will properly align cameras on the back of the device, it seems.

That whole camera module on the back of the phone will be placed in the top-left corner, as you can see. The whole module will protrude on the back, a bit, and the phone’s back side will be curved.

The device will be made out of metal and glass, and it seems like its physical buttons will sit on the right. The phone is expected to include the volume up, volume down, and power / lock buttons.

A 3.5mm headphone jack will not be included, as expected. The phone’s bezels will be extremely thin, while its display will be curved. The Galaxy S11+ is expected to sport a centered display camera hole.

This handset will become official in February, most probably. It will be launched alongside the Galaxy S11, S11e, and quite probably the Galaxy Fold 2. All of those devices are rumored to arrive on February 18.
