A well-known tipster has just revealed detailed camera specs for all three Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphones. This information comes from Ice Universe, and it was published via Weibo (Chinese social media network).
You’ve probably seen various tips from Ice Universe shared via Twitter. He sometimes shares such tips via Weibo instead. Below, you’ll find information / specs regarding every single camera on the Galaxy S20 series, both front and rear-facing ones.
The Galaxy S20 camera specs look quite promising
Let’s start with the Galaxy S20, shall we. According to this info, the phone will include three cameras on the back. It will sport a 12-megapixel main unit (Sony’s IMX555 sensor, 1.8um pixel size). In addition to that, you’ll find a 64-megapixel (ISOCELL S5KGW sensor) zoom camera, and a 12-megapixel (ISOCELL S5K2LA sensor) ultra-wide camera.
The device will not include a ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor, and Samsung will utilize a 10-megapixel camera on the front (Sony’s IMX375 sensor, 1.22um pixel size). Do note that the front-facing camera is the same on all three devices. And yes, that is the same sensor that Samsung used on the Galaxy Note 10 family.
As far as the Galaxy S20+ and S20 Ultra are concerned, they will sport four cameras on the back, including a ToF unit. Rear cameras on these two phones will not be the same, though.
The Galaxy S20+ will sport the very same triple camera setup as the Galaxy S20, with the addition of that ToF sensor (Sony’s IMX516 sensor).
The ‘Ultra’ model will offer a considerably different setup than its siblings
The Galaxy S20 Ultra, on the other hand, will sport something else entirely. A 108-megapixel camera (ISOCELL S5KHM1 sensor) will be implemented as its main camera.
A 48-megapixel unit (Sony’s IMX586 sensor, 0.8um pixel size) will be the phone’s dedicated zoom camera. Samsung opted for a 44-megapixel (ISOCELL S5KGH1 sensor, 0.7um pixel size) ultra-wide camera.
The Galaxy S20 Ultra will include a ToF camera as well, though that camera will be slightly different than the one on the Galaxy S20+. Samsung opted for Sony’s IMX518 sensor here.
The Galaxy S20 series have been leaking intensively for quite some time now. Max Weinbach recently shared real-life images of the Galaxy S20+, along with a ton more information.
Samsung is planning to launch these three phones on February 11 in San Francisco. The company already scheduled that press event.
Based on rumors, we’ll get the Galaxy S20 and S20+ in both 4G and 5G variants. The Galaxy S20 Ultra, on the other hand, will be available in a 5G flavor only. It is also worth noting that the Galaxy Z Flip foldable smartphone is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S20 series.
