Sketchy OnePlus 8 Pro Image Shows 120Hz Refresh Rate Option

A rather sketchy OnePlus 8 Pro image surfaced online, showing the phone’s 120Hz display refresh rate option. In that image, you can also see potions for 90Hz and 60Hz refresh rates, which will prolong the phone’s battery life.

Now, this image does seem sketchy to us, as the OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to include a smaller display hole. This device does have a display hole in the right place, though, the top-left corner.

This alleged OnePlus 8 Pro image seems sketchy due to a large display hole

The display hole that appeared in leaked renders does seem to be considerably smaller. This phone does include really thin bezels, and a curved display, which is something that the OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to offer.

Its corners are rounded, and the same goes for its display corners. The alert slider on the right is also in the right place, right above the power / lock button. The volume up and down buttons are on the left.

Everything seems to fit here, except that display hole. Well, it’s possible it may be that large, who knows. In any case, this image comes from the ‘TrueTech’ website, which is not a source we know much about.

Too bad we don’t get to see this phone’s chin, as it would probably reveal more info for us. In any case, it’s possible this image is accurate, we’re just a bit skeptical, that’s all.

The OnePlus 8 Pro will feature a 120Hz display, though. OnePlus recently introduced its 120Hz QHD+ Fluid AMOLED display, and it will almost certainly be included in the OnePlus 8 Pro.

The OnePlus 8 may feature it as well, though. In addition to those two phones, OnePlus is also rumored to announce the OnePlus 8 Lite in H1 2020. Those three phones are expected to arrive in May, though OnePlus may jump the gun and announce them sooner.

The regular & ‘Pro’ models are expected to ship with the Snapdragon 865

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are expected to ship with the Snapdragon 865 SoC. We’re still not sure what the 8 Lite will bring to the table, we’ll have to wait and see.

The OnePlus 8 series will be made out of metal and glass, and will ship with Android 10 out of the box. OnePlus’ OxygenOS will come pre-installed on the device, of course.

OnePlus is expected to include a proper IP certification this time around, so these two phones are expected to be IP68 certified. The same will probably apply for the 8 Lite, if it becomes official.

All three OnePlus 8 handsets are expected to include multiple cameras on the front. An in-display fingerprint scanner will also be included, an optical one.
