A rather well-known tipster has just shared the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro camera configuration info. This information comes from Teme over at @RODENT950, and as you can tell, such info has been shared via Twitter.
Do note that he did not share all the details, but most of them are here. We already knew that the Huawei P40 will include three cameras on the back. The device surfaced a couple of times now.
The Huawei P40 (Pro) camera configuration reveals rather interesting choices by the company
That being said, if the source is to be believed, we’re getting 40, 52, and 8-megapixel cameras on the back of this phone. That 52-megapixel camera (1/1.3”) will be the phone’s main camera.
The 40-megapixel camera (1/1.5”) will be the phone’s dedicated cine camera unit, while the 8-megapixel unit will be its telephoto camera (3x lossless zoom).
He also mentioned some information for the Huawei P40 Pro. He says that the camera configuration on the back of the P40 Pro will be somewhat similar to that of the Huawei P40. Huawei allegedly plans to use two identical sensors from the P40, plus two different ones.
He claims that the P40 Pro will include the same main camera, and cine cameras as the P40. Those cameras may offer different aperture than the ones on the P40, though.
In addition to those two cameras, the P40 Pro will also include a periscope camera, but no info has been provided regarding it. The phone will include a ToF (Time-of-Flight) camera as well.
The ‘Pro’ model will include five cameras on the back
The Huawei P40 Pro is expected to include five cameras on the back, though. That means that the source is missing one camera. In any case, we at least got most of the information.
This is a rather well-known source, so the information may be accurate, but take it with a grain of salt either way. This is leaked information we’re talking about after all.

The Huawei P40 also surfaced a couple of days ago. Both devices will include a pill-shaped display camera hole on the front. Both will sport really thin bezels, and will look quite similar overall.
The Huawei P40 will sport a flat display, unlike the ‘Pro’ model. Camera setups on both devices will protrude on the back, while both phones will sport Huawei’s branding on the back as well.
