ViewSonic Launches Gaming Monitors With G-Sync & Razer Chroma

ViewSonic is among what seems to be the many display companies launching new gaming monitors at CES, as the company just announced a few new gaming monitors joining its Elite lineup.

This includes a 55-inch OLED gaming monitor, as well as a curved version of the XG270QG, and the XG270.

As of right now, only the XG270 monitor is available for purchase, with the other two launching later this year. The XG270 can be found on Amazon, priced at $441.

The new ViewSonic gaming monitors support Razer Chroma

RGB lighting is synonymous with gaming, from rigs to peripherals to the monitors themselves. ViewSonic’s new line of gaming monitors follow this trend.

The XG270 for example comes with RGB lighting on the back of the display, and it supports Razer Chroma. This makes it perfect for anyone who already owns other Razer Chroma products. As the lights will sync up.

With the RGB lights being on the back of the XG270, they can sync up with Chroma and provide immersive, ambient lighting that projects onto the wall behind the monitor.

In addition to Razer Chroma, the new monitors support Thermaltake TT RGB Plus as well. Users can adjust and manage the settings for RGB lighting with ViewSonic’s Elite RGB software.

A range of refresh rates to suit personal tastes

Each monitor will offer something a little bit different in the way of refresh rates.

For some, the refresh rate won’t matter, but for others it’s a big deal. Those that like to play competitively especially. The higher the refresh rate, the less chance of you noticing any tearing within the game.

ViewSonic is offering a range of refresh rates with these new Elite gaming monitors. Though, unfortunately you won’t get options with every monitor. The Elite XG550 is a 55-inch native 4K gaming monitor, but only has a 120Hz refresh rate.

So it’s big, but the refresh rate is capped at the 120Hz. This is still plenty, but there is certainly better. Take for example the XG270QC, the new 27-inch curved gaming monitor. This comes with a 165Hz refresh rate.

Even better still is the new G-Sync compatible XG270 with BlurBuster’s PureXP Strobe backlighting technology. This monitor comes with a 240Hz refresh rate.

Which means fluid, crisp motion clarity for all those fast-paced games. This should afford the least amount of tearing possible compared to most monitors, save for other 240Hz monitors and the new 360Hz monitor announced by NVIDIA and ASUS on January 5.

Each of the three monitors will also come with ViewSonic Elite Ally, which is a USB-connected touch display that lets you access various settings for the monitor and your games.

ViewSonic hasn’t announced pricing yet for the XG550 or the XG270QC. The XG550 also won’t be arriving until sometime in Q4 of this year, and the XG270QC won’t be available until Q2. Meanwhile the XG270 with G-Sync is available globally.
